Congo tetras have been on my list for a while. Now you’re making me think about getting this puffer 😅 don’t think I will though as I’m planning to put them in a 40g
Remember to have multiple sources. Although he said 55g, other sources have suggested a minimum of as low as 30g. Obviously bigger is better but you could get away with a single spotted congo puffer in a 30g and probably a school of congo tetra in your 40g, provided the filtration is adequate
I probably have to buy one online but I want to do a 180 gal African congo maybe nile or Madagascar theme with congo tetras, bichir a mini school of upside down cat. A elephant nose and some kind of cichlid. Especially 3 butterfly fish. I have plenty of snails with my other planted tanks to feed him.
Love this fish ❤️ I just got one of my own last week, he came in a bit rough but he’s improving very quickly and eating very well! I love their character
Nice Video :-) I have nine of them in a 750 liter tank togehter with 100 snails and 25 amanos. Is your puffer a wild catch ? Mine are from a breeder in germany. Mine do not eat snails yet- the amanos get them before 😂 best regards from Germany - Arndt 🙋♂️
I have one he/she is 1 in when I received him I love this little fish but all I can get him to eat is blood worms what can I do to get him to eat other things.he has shrimp as friends and snails (pest snails) they were for him to eat but they are fish mates now 🤦♀️what can I do?
I have a group of them, 4 to be exact, and I keep them with reticulated hill stream loaches, cardinals and an obnoxious silver flying fox (and a few shrimp - I bought them as food for the puffers when I couldn't get hold of snails, please forgive me shrimp lovers! I've since started breeding snails). One of the puffers suffers from the chihuahua complex, he's the smallest one but bosses the others around.
Setting up a new 75 gal planted, sand, wood aquarium. Moving community fish in from 65 gal. Want a spotted Congo puffer. Would CaribSea Naturals sand in gold be an okay substrate? That's what I've used in all of my other aquariums. How "aged" should the aquarium be before introducing the SCP?
55 gallon? You could definitely do a 40 breeder, maybe smaller

Love it Thanks! What are your water parameters ad filtration?
Hello Jay, can you tell me where you got that orange feeder tube...I've been looking everywhere. I have found a few that are slightly different.
I have one, fantastic addition to my aquarium, working on getting a Congo tank together just like yours!
That’s amazing
Hey! Great vid! Was it that tube device you use to feed your puffer? I keep mine with congo tetras and they always take his food!!

Am fascinated by puffers. Do you think they'd do ok with synodontis petricola?
Can I put 2 South American puffers with just 1 Congo puffer?
That’s a big risk
I have yet to keep a puffer of any species! I expect to have at least one of them at some point! Thanks for the close ups!
Love Dwight! He's adorable!
Thanks for the info. I’ve wanted one of these boys for a while

Hi, can you help with a link for that feeding box. Looking for one for my scp, we call him puff daddy 🙂 🐡

Do you think I Could have one in a 29 gallon by itself?? With one fish like Dwight, also what kind of fish is Dwight??
Please help lol 😂
It’s a spotted Congo puffer
yes you could keep a single spotted congo puffer in a 29g providing you have good filtration
Your tank is truly inspirational Man!!! Beautiful images, great info!!! congrats!!!
Would love to have one but impossible to get in New Zealand.
What’s the name of the fish at minute 2:22 in the middle

Age isn’t really any issue. Maybe a couple weeks.
Are they active?
Weird question what about long finned catfish like synodotus?
Schroutdeni
I meant for husbandry I'm kinda iffy on it but curious
I also meant the eupterus feather fin one to be specific
So a two inch wing do good in a 20 gal ? Got it
