  • What are Special Situations Funds?
Special Situations Funds take advantage of short-term special situations and buy the stocks of the companies which are trading below their intrinsic or true value. These funds identify and make use of unique events or circumstances that can impact the value of companies. Special situation funds are not largely dependent on the market mood or valuations, because they focus on specific news that has to do with a particular stock. This strategy is better placed at this point in time, than the normal buy-and-hold investment strategy.

Don't invest in themetic funds based on past returns. Themes are cyclical.
The themes that performed great may perform bad in future and vice versa

According to me we should keep only 3 funds - 1: flexicap fund 2: midcapfund , 3: small cap fund....dont get influenced by fancy new names... Besides keep investing in gold bees and silver bees and nifty junior bees

@@yaduvanshi_hemu u should do your own research. No one can tell funds which will perform best in future. Today's winner can be tomorrow losers.
Important is to understand funds investment styles and fund manager.
Consider investing in smart beta funds if want to invest in semi passive funds

Depends on your goals. For single goal you can have this strategy. You can't assign a goal to a single small cap

@@jishnu18 yaah. But most people have one goal it is for them. One can always have more funds depending on there goal and time period
