I would compare GLB with Q5 as both are similar sized. I test drove both and found GLB even bigger and more luxurious. It is also priced similar to Q5. Q3 compares with GLA.
@@rileyschannel I would say historically Q5 competes with X3 and GLC but both vehicles are much bigger and expensive than Q5 now. GLB is priced same as Q5. I think that’s why Mercedes introduced GLB to sway buyers who are Mercedes inclined but GLC is too expensive while GLA is too small. You can check both GLB and Q5 specs for comparisons.
I like the angular bubble fish design; this is a Merc classic look. Beside the London taxi, it reminds me of the Mercedes' work van from the 80's. Wish the AMC grill is standard or just plain silver arrows in the middle without any lines in the grill area...
I saw two of these at the mall. Both in white, base models with base wheels. I could not believe it had a Mercedes badge. From the sides and rear it looks like an entry level Chevrolet crossover
Another reviewer was saying that the interior noise from the road was terrible? It should definitely be really quiet on any kind of high quality car. I noticed the Porsche macan has an option for quiet windows etc.
3:47 I am digging this trend of diplomatic criticism from reviewers such as yourself, why be overly critical on subjective matters? Really good approach, after all, carmakers’ PR teams watch these videos too, why make enemies if you can avoid it? Great video, missed the elbow comfort/squirrel test, oh well, can’t have everything in life.
Keep everybody happy and you get even more cars to review and we get to enjoy these reviews even more, win-win. I get turned off by overly critical reviews. For instance, an example of constructive criticism: “I see areas of improvement” as opposed to “this part was done wrong” or “their programmers are not as good as others”, ... Subjective matters tend to be a matter of personal taste.
@@trumpisastump9382 I can’t claim to represent every viewer, my opinion is my own as are my remarks. Of course all reviewers have their own opinions. I am currently watching reviews of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer which were embargoed for all reviewers until early morning, so it was quite a delight to watch different reviewers’ takes on all the things from driving to design to all the little details and some of the same things were appreciated by same and not liked by others, I still appreciated all their reviews. So, I personally still appreciate their “diplomatic” criticism. Of course it would be great if we could all express our opinions with no repercussion, but we all know that there are consequences to ones actions. Good luck finding reviewers who will insult designers or decision makers at some of these companies and still be able to review cars in the future, they may have to start renting cars to review or borrow them from acquaintances and friends. Why burn a bridge if you can’t? Reviewers tend to have influence just by the number of viewers they can commend, so some of their opinions can result in positive changes that benefit all of us. For example, I never knew I wanted extending sun visors in my car until not too long ago while watching some of these reviews, I settled for just accepting what is in the car.
Quiz time! Which Mercedes Benz SUV in the 2020 lineup is the only one to NOT get OEM remote start as an available option? Answer: The brand new Mercedes Benz GLB. It's really unfortunate because everything else is pretty good. I don't understand why it's the ONLY SUV in MB's current SUV lineup that doesn't get that as an available option.
This shape is better than GLA and yields more trunk space. Can this GLB AWD carry 4 pieces 6ft long 2x4 inside? Or roof top? But tiny suv for $60k!? C'mon man!!
I'm not feeling those circular vents. Mercedes-Benz in general doesn't appeal to me. At best, the GLS and AMG E63S wagon are dope. Anything else isn't interesting to me.
The interior and tech is impressive, the outside looks too staid for the price in my opinion, the profile reminds me of a lowly Jeep Patriot or one of those square-shaped taxicabs in the UK. I think the Audi, BMW, and Lincoln Corsair look alot more premium than this, plus the 3rd row seats are an obvious gimmick since MB rarely provides any 3rd-row-equipped GLB's as press cars. Overall I'd pass on this and go straight to the Audi or Lincoln dealer personally.
Mercedes has betrayed their customer ever since 1995 E-class came out. I was a kid back then and Mercedes was the God of all cars brands. Had a neighbor who purchased a 1995 E-class W210. not long after he showed us the rust that was developing under the car. After that moment Mercedes was no longer a God for me, it was just another car company. Not to mention the reliability issued ever since the 90's. Stay away from Mercedes unless you have lots of money.
Notice how your tone is completly difference when reviewing any Mercedes vs a GM vehicle. Even when you find a fault with the MB you gloss over and make an excuse for it. No sarcasm and snarky jokes either. MB pay you more for reviews?
I can't justify paying $40k for something the size class of a Kia Sportage. Just stupid. You'd be better off getting much more space, for the same price in a mid-size suv. Just my opinion.....
Ugly, overpriced, and unreliable. What's not to love? I love KBB reviews, though. And agree... the placement of the Auto Start/Stop disable button is genius. Only Mercedes does this right.
The only compact SUV that actually looks like a SUV
I agree
Eh the Lexus NX?
Tiguan?
This is easily the handsomest crossover from Mercedes! I hope the rest of the GL family could be as boxy as this
Yesss bring back the box
I like this shape of SUV. I have a fond memory of the old Forester.
Exactly. I like it too.
But I own an Outback lol.
Yes! Although I’m sure MB would LOVE to hear that
I have a 2005 forester xt im havinh a hard time finding a replacement for 😅
The back looks like a pt cruiser

Wasn't the biggest Mercedes SUV guy but I like this, it looks good.
Black with black alloys looks super cool.
It looks like a London taxi.
Wow, I can't unsee this now. Thanks
Lol! Absolutely thought the same! London cab all day
soo true!! have you seen the rear of the Rolls Royce Cullinan!
@@Watchlistenread9623 yeah!
The hell, no it doesn’t
I never been much if an suv guy but i really like this alot
I like it- it is like a baby GLS.
I like that they didn't review the 350. Glad to see more volume-sellers getting reviewed.
I've noticed that KBB editors do not like to use their blinker when they should.
OMG!!!! Are we gonna ignore the fact that Micah is wearing shorts? 😍😍😍
💗💯
No, we are going to watch the review again 😍
He's a total babe
What a stud!!😍
😍😍😍
Subaru Forester should look like this with full options at $35k
I like the angular bubble fish design; this is a Merc classic look. Beside the London taxi, it reminds me of the Mercedes' work van from the 80's. Wish the AMC grill is standard or just plain silver arrows in the middle without any lines in the grill area...
It’s the rounder look of their GLK suv, about the same size over all too.
Howdy, awesome video Micah! Let me just say, Mercedes easily has one of the best voice command systems!
I saw two of these at the mall. Both in white, base models with base wheels. I could not believe it had a Mercedes badge. From the sides and rear it looks like an entry level Chevrolet crossover
I hope Micah does a "family review" of this one. I review of the GLA 45S whenever it gets here would be cool as well.
I’m not going to lie. I have two E Classes but that GLB is damned fine
Another reviewer was saying that the interior noise from the road was terrible? It should definitely be really quiet on any kind of high quality car. I noticed the Porsche macan has an option for quiet windows etc.
I don’t understand the mini suvs. Just get a full-size sedan or step up to a mid suv
Michael Vuong FOR REAL!!!!!! Lol
smaller overall footprint with relatively large passenger volume. This is more of a large hatchback than anything else.
$$ is the limiting factor, sedan budget w/ suv interests
Easier to find parking if you live in the city
Love the new GLB 🖤🖤🖤

I love Micah's t-shirt and want it.
Best SUV in current MB lineup
Ermmmm, no.
I’m picking mine up in the new year, can’t wait!
Nice viola plug 👏
Action packed trips to your kids viola recital 😂
Do Micah actually know of anyones kids who play the viola specifically, and not the cello or double bass?
it looks like mercedes are returing back to their own square box shape roots.

Is there a sunroof on this thing for 60k as shown, I did not see a sunroof. WOw
Hi Micah question without notice. What brand is your backpack that was in the storage area.
Micah, the GLB 35 isn't out yet. You made it seem like you could go to your dealership and pick one up.
Treads I thought I heard they will be showing up on dealer lots in October, so soon enough if that’s the case.
@@ALMX5DP Interesting. I thought I heard December. We will see!

Hi Micah, great vid! I’m debating between 2020 GLB or 2017 GLE 350. Your thoughts?
Even tho I dislike crossovers and SUVS this is one good looking Crossover Great job Mercedes
60k for a subcompact SUV? There's no way anyone would do that. These are lease machines.
You can get a well loaded one for 48,000 but I wouldn’t buy either.
Looks more like a wagon than a SUV. Boxy shape means more interior room though.

Great video guys, the GLB is probably my least favourite Mercedes right now (& that is including the B class haha)
Great music at the end
My next car 💯
I still can't believe the exhaust ports in the back are fake. Honestly, that is a GM move.
I want that Manual/NES shirt.
Micah doing his best Nelly impression at the 04:13 videomark.
It’s their best crossover.
I agree, better than the gla and the glc. I don’t even know why they make the gla.
Engineering Rebel GLC is better
Am I the only one whom thinks this looks like a certain, "Hamster's CUV?"
if only it had a PHEV variant.
GLC all the way!!
nice beard Micah
Fun fact: it's related to the QX50.
What does that mean?

G-wagen? Unimog? Rich old timers taking turns too fast in their SLs?

#DigMonster, aka, the velvet hammer! Crazy launches, family capable and opulent...if only I had the money!
Please don’t call a seven seater SUV compact. The GLA250 is more of a compact SUV.
