    Thank you for sharing your knowledge - even though I work in finance it's a bit hard to grasp the concept as I come from the EU :)

    Hi! Thank you very much for the video! At 9:00, can you please explain where how did you calculate the value for the 4,7%? Is there a place where we can calculate or simulate the withdrawal fee - I am 28 years old and just moved to Geneva. I am interested on investing the 3rd pillar as a long term investor. Also, is it possible to qualify for the 3rd pillar if you use a broker (like swissquote, degiro, etc) and get the tax benefits, or do you need to use certain financial products offer by the banks or insurance providers?

    • @ingeniousfinance
      @ingeniousfinance  6 месяцев назад

      Hello,
      I belive swissquote offer a third pillar but not degiro.
      However I wouldn't choose swissquote for my 3rd pillar.

    In Zug canton, does it make sense to invest in 3rd piller as withdrawal tax is higher then the Tax slab. I assume direct ETF investment is good.

      Hello,
      thank you for your interest.
      Indeed the max marginal tax rate will be at around 20%, in this case that would make sense to invest in your third pillar as you would pay 0%-10% on the withdrawal of capital.
      However if your marginal tax rate is 5-10%, it does not make sense to invest in your 3rd pillars
      Kind regards
      Sebastien

      Thank you for your Swift response, for the current fiscal year tax at source on my salary in Zug is 5.2%. I think it would be wise for me to invest in direct equity. Btw do you have any ETF or funds related video which I can refer to and learn. Finance is always interesting and learning from Swiss it’s icing on the cake. One of my friend told me about currency hedge options but I am still exploring opportunities.

      Hello,
      Indeed, in your case, the 3rd pillar is not advisable. It is better to invest directly in stocks/funds/etfs.
      If you want my best selection, please consider booking a consultation with me: calendly.com/ingeniousfinance/eng-consulting-100?back=1&month=2024-10
      Regarding currency hedge options, I would not recommand it (for tax reasons).

    Merci pour la vidéo! J’ai le permis B, c’est-à-dire que mes impôts sont déduits à la source. Comment puis-je bénéficier des avantages fiscaux du troisième pilier? Merci beaucoup!

      Bonjour,
      Il suffit de demander une TOU (taxation ordinaire ultérieure), il faut absolument effectuer la demande avant le 31.03 de l'année suivante.
      Vous pourrez ensuite remplir une déclaration fiscale et appliquer toutes les déductions.
      Cordialement,
      Sébastien BEROS

    I have a third pillar banking solution, but the money just sits there and slowly deflates over time. Where are you finding something offering 7% growth!? I'm alarmed about all the tax you mentioned when we come to use it at retirement!

    If I decide to leave Switzerland and withdraw my 3rd pillar (moving into an EU country), will I be allowed in the future to move back to Switzerland if I want? Its not clear what are the conditions/restrictions of the “Move abroad permanently”

    • @ingeniousfinance
      @ingeniousfinance  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello,
      You will not have any issue with returning to Switzerland. The only issue might be tax wise where you may be required to recapitalize the amount withdrawn to your 3rd pillar.
      Imo, the risk is very low for a 3rd pillar.
      If you want to be on the safe side I would wait maybe 3 years between the time of withdrawal and the tiem you return to Switzerland (tax wise)

    Hi, I am a long term investor in low cost ETFs, does it make sense for me to use pillar 3a or it’s better to just invest the money directly in my IBKR ETFs?

    • @ingeniousfinance
      @ingeniousfinance  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello,
      If you are employed and earn more than 50K/year by person then it is certainly more interesting to invest through your 3rd pillar 3a.
      If you need a more specifi answer, feel free booking a consultation: calendly.com/ingeniousfinance/eng-consulting-100?back=1&month=2024-05

      Yes because you can deduct everything you invest into 3a from your taxes. So that's like garenteed returns lol
