That was beautiful! I love exploring all the different parts of Kara, she’s such a much more layered character than I think most people give her credit for. I love other characters calling into question Kara’s actions, and her having to take a step back and be like “Am I? Have I become this?” I love that she can both embrace making a difference as Supergirl and as Kara Danvers. ❤️
Thank you!! & yesssss I agree! there's so much complexity to her that people often miss and there are so many different facets to her that makeup who she really is and reasons as to why she does what she does. It's why I find her such a fascinating character, she's so deep and as a character already so rich especially in regards to how well melissa's acted her but at the end of the day still full of even more potential. ooo yes & that bit where she was called a narcissist and said 'everything you touch you ruin' I just knew she would take it to heart and blame herself when he said it, it was so heartbreaking to watch so I just had to include a little something on that because I thought it was a really poignant moment in that episode in S4 and as you mentioned it's definitely one of those moments where people are calling her into question and she's having to self analyse and readjust especially because it hits on a bunch of insecurities with regards to her 'not being good enough, the world doesn't need me' and her continual loss being around other people and would make her question why she's really doing it etc etc and also that it'd bring up Mon-El's words of 'you just love people loving you' like there's just so much to explore! Same here! It's a testament to her heart and love for other people! she’s lost so much in life I can imagine why she’s so scared of losing lena as well. Lena’s lost so much too but I really hope she understands why kara did what she did because if she doesn’t they’re both going to lose something so precious in their lives.
I have recently started rewatching the previous seasons of the show and i have realized that this character has experienced so much growth as a hero and as a person and a woman and with everthing she has been through she has never given up and with everthing she is going through now I have no doubt she will get through it with the help of all those who love her
Agree completely, I love watching how melissa's developed her from season to season, you can really see how she's grown and changed after every life experience and especially every season, she's just flourished and it's amazing to watch. & I agree I think the reason she's been able to continue the way she has done is because of the love she's found around her, I think she gains so much strength from that! I really do!
God, this video is so emotional. It really reminded me how much I loved Supergirl; I ought to catch up! Great job telling her story in such a beautiful way!
