It’s called a stable life not a boring life. Lots of us have that kind of life.
Thanks! Nothing wrong with the term "seamstress". I am one. It is just a word. Some people get offended at the least little thing. Life is too short for that nonsense.
I like the word 'seamstress.' It told the entire English-speaking world that there was at least one craft that was the exclusive province of women. 😂
@@suemeonyoutube like seamstress, too! I find it elegant.
Wish with all my heart my late cat was here for me to fuss over. If you have yours make the most of every moment.
I have no choice - Audie insists on being fussed over. 😹😻
I understand. I am sorry for the loss of your cat.
Sewing tips are always welcome.
Good to know - thanks! 😊
I would LOVE to see sewing videos from you. I won a tidy little sum of cash from the Super Bowl this year. I bought a service of 8 blue/white dishes and a new Singer sewing machine. I, too, have been watching sewing videos. I absolutely hate cheap, cheap fabric and clothes (the kind that falls apart, fades, shrinks or even stretches out of shape). I finished a blouse, and I love it! It's made out of fabric that fell in love with, and it FITS.
I don't think your life is boring. I would love to see a sewing video from you. I used to sew all the time. I just don't seem to have time now.
No, trust me - my life is BORING! 😂
Audie will not be permitted to help with the sewing. I have no idea how I'm going to manage that, but I'll just have to find a way. Audie and tissue paper patterns is the stuff of my nightmares... 😱😹😱😹
The bank thing used to annoy me, until 9.5k moved out of my bank in the middle of the night to somewhere in India. Bank shut it down. I’ve never complained about the inconvenience since.
Unfortunately, my bank allowed some hacker to clean out one of my accounts in a very suspicious series of transactions - identical transactions of $95.79 over the course of about an hour until they finally brought the balance down to about $35 - and my bank never raised an eyebrow. They did cancel the transactions when I discovered them the following morning, but that's a lot like locking the barn door after the horse has gotten away. But I agree with you in theory - if their systems worked, I wouldn't complain. 😂
Hello Sue, whatever you say or do in your videos I think we would be watching Lots of love to you and Audie❤
Thank you - and our love to you and yours! 😊😸💖
I definitely will be watching. I consider you one of my friends.
I do like the ramble. 🤭
And I love yours. You've recently posted a couple that are on my 'watch list' for tomorrow. Can't wait... 😊
@@suemeonyoutube Thank you! Fair warning....they're a bit of a rough watch.
I learned to sew in junior high school and made most of my clothes in high school!! It was less expensive to make your own clothes back then, but the price of fabric now has closed that gap!! I made clothes for my first daughter and as the kids added up, there was no time for sewing. When I retired, I learned how to quilt - can I tell you how hard it is to go to a 1/4" seam from a 5/8" seam??!! After using a 1/4" for so long, going back to a 5/8" seam seems excessive! Save your fabric scraps and find a quilter who will use them...we can use scraps as small as 1" square, although most prefer 2" square. I can't imagine an orthopedic surgeon who doesn't want their patients to work with PT, before and after!! Insane!! Adorable beagle...reminds me of my childhood beagle!!
Love the idea of saving scraps for a quilter. I'm in rural Pennsylvania so I'm sure there is no shortage of quilters around here, and I doubt I will have any trouble finding a local quilting club. But if that fails, I'm happy to send them your way! 😂
@@suemeonyoutube I'm sure you have a plethora of quilters close to you!! Finding one who is willing to work with anything other than 100% cotton can be a little more difficult, but as long as it is washable, it works for me! I like using textured fabrics to make baby blankets for tummy time as they like to feel the different textures.
I've sewn since I was a little, I was allowed to use grandma's 'rag bag' to make doll's clothes. Both of my grandmas were seamstresses. Hate the words sewist and sewer. Nothing wrong with seamstress or dressmaker. I love watching the sewing channels. 'Sewing with Nancy' old videos are brilliant as I never saw her on TV in the UK 🇬🇧
I love sewing and did a lot in my youth. I have picked it back up now I have retired.
I would love to see your videos of sewing. What a treat that would be x
I love watching sewing videos on RUclips - that's my secret passion. 😊💖
@@suemeonyoutubeI have a combo sewing/embroidery machine & an 8 thread serger waiting for me to use some of the fabric I have been “collecting”!
I loved the show today. I had two aunts who were seamstresses back in the 60s. They were custom fitters and I would enjoy watching them work; cutting, fitting the garment etc. I would love to see your sewing episodes. I also enjoyed your craft/repair episodes. It’s fun and educational. 😊
Thank you! I will be filming the sewing projects (I will also be timing them to show how quickly they go) and if there is enough interest, I'll post the videos. 😊
I can’t imagine a doctor who wouldn’t advise PT after surgery. You do you!!
Good afternoon, Master Audieball, and to your handmaiden, Sue, too. ❤
Looks like you're clear about how the pecking order works in my house... 😹😹😹
@suemeonyoutube Well, I was going to mention your life in a cathouse, but thought better of it! 🤣
Thank you Sue for another great coffee and conversation.
I am recovering from an ankle fusion, on my bed with my leg elevated on a Jenga style pile of pillows and enjoying today’s topics.
1. Seamstress is fine by me. I love historical fashion and think Nicole Rudolph and Bernadette Banner (more so her earlier videos,) are both excellent. Stephanie Canada might be a source of 80’s patterns. I sewed all my clothes in my teens and whilst at uni.
As part of my recuperation I am doing some slow stitching and have taken up an embroidery project. Thankfully, it is something I can do as small piece work so it is not overwhelming me. It has helped while away the time.
2. Banks!!!!!!! Some good some bad.
3. Joint replacement and physiotherapy. I can’t believe your surgeon’s take on this! My orthopaedic surgeon insisted on a 6 week pre habilitation programme before I had joint replacement and then more post op. Both hips and both knees in the last 14 years. It makes a huge difference. I think you are doing the right thing.
I would definitely enjoy watching you sew. I am determined this year (as I finish painting the 1853 farmhouse) to start making simple tunics, pants, and dresses.
The main advantage to sewing your own clothing is you can have anything you want - ANYTHING!!! If you want a 1960's disco dress or the designer blouse that just doesn't come in your favorite color, you can have them. 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed your ramble Sue. Regardless of the topic, you make it interesting. That adorable little squirrel in the slideshow stole my heart. ❤🤗😘
Those photos were shared with me by our viewers so they are - quite literally - from all over the world. I love seeing other people's pets, although their photos always leave me feeling as if I got the 'broken' cat. 😹😹😹
I grew up with seamstress for a lady and tailor for a man. I can’t quite get behind sewer. 😂
I get it - I have a lot of trouble referring to someone as a sewer - unless, of course, I don't like them very much to begin with... 😂
@@suemeonyoutubeI have heard the title of sewist.
French seams are my favorite finish. Works great on lightweight knits with a zigzag type stitch. Very east to do slight fitting adjustments
I'm a big fan of French seams, too. And I have a couple of tricks for using them with heavier fabrics. 😉
Had to look up "serged seams" - we call it overlocking/overlocked seams! I agree re the method Rosalinda's father said re sleeves - much easier and neater.
I'm up for a video on a Chanel jacket video...
Sorry about that - I didn't realize there was another term in use elsewhere. (I should have known - two countries separated by the same language and all...) Is it the same way overseas, overlocked seams being more prevalent in lower quality garments? 🤔
@@suemeonyoutube yes - "common" language does have boundaries doesn't it!
Yes - all the cheap clothing/artifacts are "overlocked" or "serged" - I used to French seam or fold the edge and straight sew by preference...agree re 5/8 seam allowance too!
Morning Sue..Audie too
Good morning! 😊😸
I've sewed for years, hurts my back to lay out and cut the pattern out anymore so don't do a lot of it. My grandmother could go to the store, see the outfit we wanted, go buy the fabric and go home cut it out and just sew it up. I need a pattern. Stephanie Canada has a youtube channel she sews but she also has a shop and sells vintage patterns. She has those 1940 and 1950 patterns.
Thanks for the tip! 😊
Good Morning!
Good morning! 😊
Morning Sue, lol Audie the diva. My cat dug me out of the duvet during the night to free a petting arm. Cats 🤷🏼🤡. Love a ramble video. I can hem my trousers, that’s it, but it’s a very relaxing pastime.
Would be great if you did a video making something.
You mean you don't sleep with one arm out for the cat to curl up on and the other arm out to cuddle? What's wrong with you?! 😂😹
@ Well normally I do but it was freezing last night, Amy said he maybe thought I was in difficulty it was so unusual 😂.
@@annecampbell9621 how adorable your kitty wanting a love snuggle thru the night. I had one for many years that curled around my head on my pillow thru the night. I could never fool him about when I actually awoke. He would begin purring like a diesel engine in my ear. He was a treasure. 🩵
@ That’s lovely, they are such loving creatures. I have 2 my girl sleeps on the pillow next to mine, she is very ladylike, it’s the boy who likes to lay on top of me and get petted.
Good Morning Sue and Audie 🐈 Love Y'all lots and lots ❤❤❤😂😂😂😮😮😮
P.S. would love to learn your sewing tips !!!
Back at ya! 😻😊💖
My grandmother had a knitting machine.
She used to knit socks l loved to watch her when l was very young.
When the first world war broke out she knit socks for anyone that signed up to join the British Army.
I would love to see a sewing video Sue, l have a love of sewing making my own clothes from l was about 10 years old.
I've seen those old knitting machines, but I've never seen one in use. And bless your Gran's kind heart - I love wool socks and I'm sure she made a lot of soldiers much more comfortable than they would have been without her generosity. 😊
I love a French seam & would look forward to seeing new techniques & easy ways to do things.
I'm also looking forward to Audi giving his opinions your paper patterns. Imp that he is. 😊
Audie will not be permitted to help with the sewing. I have no idea how I'm going to manage that, but I'll just have to find a way. Audie and tissue paper patterns is the stuff of my nightmares... 😱😹😱😹
@suemeonyoutube 😁💜
I love that Channel also, and often, Bernadette Banner, she has had a very interesting journey, I came across her channel, because I wanted to make a fine cotton half slip, on the bias.
My sister and I, were taught at a young age to sew, by two different Aunts in Los Angeles, California, when we were each around 10 years old also, and each ended up with our own "SPECIALITY", and a great deal of pride, and satisfaction from sewing -- the more difficult, the better. As teens, we made ONLY VOGUE patterns, because we loved the 1960 -- 1970 styles, and we could make the QUALITY we wanted from the NATURAL fabrics (that my mother would only ALLOW us to buy, she had no use for synthetics, and we preferred the varieties of cottons and wools also).
Have you seen "Style Arc" from Australia? Videos both OLD AND new, featuring Kenneth King, Palmer, and Pletsch, also OLDER Videos featuring Sandra Betzina, and ANYTHING by Claire Shaeffer. THREADS magazine, videos, and books.
Re: the BANK, it is an "AGE THING", there have been so many MILLIONS of dollars lost to scams directed at SENIORS, in Canada, and the US, that they must have alerted the banks to "watch out" for us, and be on the "alert" -- whether we need it or not. At the end of 2020, I decided I wanted to make my own clothes again, and wanted to replace my beloved, computerized Pfaff 1475 Sewing Machine, which was lost during a fire. I located the exact (1991) model at a sewing machine repair business in New Holland, Pennsylvania. The proprieter: Glen Smith was a TRUE Pfaff lover, and genius at restoring them. (I could tell, from the informative videos on his "You Tube" channel) I wanted an exact replacement, for my melted machine, however, in US currency, and exchange, plus the huge amount of *duty/shipping involved, and so on, it would have beena little over $3000.00. So, stupidly thinking that the quality I expected from my previous Pfaff, would also be in a NEW 2021 Pfaff, with the same features (plus few more) -- I decided to go on a trip to Pennsylvania "AFTER" Covid, and see /buy it in person, later, and BUY a new Pfaff in Canada, NOW, (with the lifetime warranty) only no Dealerships were open due to lockdowns,; everything was "ON LINE" I went to my bank, to get a "money order" to pay for my purchase, and was told, that I had to use an E-Transfer for such a large amount (it was a little over $3,000.00 CDN, on sale from $4,900.00 CDN) or pay a substantial fee for such a large money order. The bottom line -- they wanted to KNOW WHO the company was in Edmonton, if they were a LEGITIMATE COMPANY, was I SURE about this etc, and I was a bit surprised at having to JUSTIFY my purchase to young strangers, in a bank. After selecting "secret codes", and "being **coached about how to send an E-Transfer from home", the DEED was done; the machine looked gorgeous, even better than the picture. In actual use, it is not as QUIET, and precice as the old original German-made machines. The IDT is the same as the original, and it is very versatile; gets the job done, but in a BIGGER, BOLDER way. It was a steep "learning curve", ONLINE again -- there used to be several Pfaff dealers in Ontario, - not any more ! Thank Goodness for You Tube.
Finding good Fabrics, is an "ONLINE" resource now unless you want good Quilting cotton -- there are 1000's of Quilt Stores here. (I was having some antique chairs reupholstered recently, and had to order the "large print" fabric I wanted, in the correct weight, from Glasgow Scotland).
* under the current North American Free Trade Agreement; IN THE RULES for used (or new) Sewing Machines, there is NO duty charged for the machine, or parts, however, someone decided -- for "convenience" a COMBINED DUTY AND SHIPPING FEE, would be put on orders crossing into Canada During "Covid" -- sometimes the SHIPPING COSTS were HIGHER than the ITEMS being purchased !
** I only got the Internet, a tablet, computer, a printer, and a cell phone, at the end of 2019, and was still teaching myself which "buttons" performed what function; and had no confidence in making this transaction "from home" as the bank insisted. My friend in Modesto, California, used to say" "All you need to do, to understand 'the internet' is have 'an 8-year-old' near by, to help." My beautiful cat was 8, but no help whatsoever. 😊
I replaced my sewing machine with a model from 1940. I still kept the newer machine just in case, but I never use it anymore. I'm set in my ways and I stick with what I know. You friend is right, by the way; little kids have grown up with this technology and they are pros by the time they hit junior high school. 😂
I have my grandmother's treadle Singer sewing machine. I have a modern machine, but I look for reasons to use the treadle.
Hi Sue, a very good episode indeed. When Pooh Bear the cat tries to pull a power play, I become very aloof and it gets him back in line. Q: what are your favorite seam finishes for blouses? The inset sleeve tip makes sense. Hope you are soon able to resume your walks.❤
For lightweight fabrics, I will always go for a French seam first. But for heavier fabrics, I like a flat-felled seam - it's exceptionally durable and adds a nice visual detail. The flat-felled seam is, in my humble opinion, a very underutilized finish that is particularly well suited to casual garments. 😉
Good morning, Sue.
I think what is happening with your bank is a fraud protection program that's poorly executed. Many banks have a program that within moments of a purchase, you will receive a text message on your mobile phone asking you to verify that you initiated the purchase. If you don't respond to the text promptly, they will lock the card assuming your card has been stolen. The bank algorithms know where one usually spends their 💰 & it gets nervous when something new appears. The algorithms are a bit presumptuous.
I think my bank's algorithms need a vacation. 😂
I've had a look at the Closet Historian...very interesting and I love "vintage" too...
The best way to get a good introduction to her channel is to pick something you're interested in, like a 1950's circle skirt or a futuristic Cyberpunk dress - she really does cover that much ground - and search her videos for something on that topic. Then watch the entire video. You'll walk away knowing exactly how to make that item for yourself. She's a great instructor. 😊
@@suemeonyoutube thanks Sue! I will subscribe and do that. Always useful to have a visual even if it isn't exactly what you think you need it can give you great ideas!
We're currently in the caravan travelling Australia so sewing is a touch out of the question but there's no harm in learning so when we get home next year I can have a project in my head ready to go!
Hope Audie settled down...did you get some bad weather - that used to set my cat off...
I sewed all my own clothes and those of my two boys. I sewed curtains and bedclothes. I sewed couturier dresses. I upholstered. Then I forgot how to even start my machine. Thank you for this video. Please continue this. I’ll be with you.
The worst for me is I can’t buy real fabric here. Unless you quilt it’s a cemetery! 😊
I have no idea how to finish a seam as you’re describing. I’d be interested in seeing that! My sister’s are older and seamstresses. They always did that stuff for me and I was uninterested.
I've never forgotten Rosalinda's father's advice, so seam finishes are a real hot button for me. Most of them are very easy and very low-skill, but they do add extra time to your project. On the other hand, a good seam finish will not only make your project look better, but it will make it last a lot longer. So I figure it's well worth the extra time. 😊
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy listening to you! Thank you!
I learned all these sewing tips from my county agent in 4-H in New Mexico. 🌵👍👍👍
Very interested in your sewing background. I started sewing in my teens and we did not have Home Ec where I was living. Started out with patterns that I could follow. After my children came along I sewed for them. By this time I went to a college and kept learning as much as I could. Took stretch sewing to make children's outfits. When I went back to work made my own wardrobe. By the time I retired I started buying clothes as it was then cheaper to do that than make them. Also when I retired I took up quilting. It is the love of my life. I do it everyday. I get addiction symptoms if I can't sew. Thank you Sue for discussing this topic. You will guess my age if I mention Crimplene.
Good point - home sewing is no longer about saving money, but it will get you EXACTLY what you want, and that's something a department store can't always do. That's why I sew - I'm just crazy-picky... And yes, I do remember Crimplene. 😂
I will look through my patterns. If I can find a trouser pattern I will send it to you Sue.
That's very kind of you, but if it's a good pattern that fits you well and looks good on you, you should keep it. I'm learning that a good trouser pattern is very hard to find and if you have one, you should guard it as if it were your firstborn child. 😂
@suemeonyoutube
Hi sue, I have inherited patterns from my mother in law and some of my own. I can easily copy and keep the copy. I, like you have been sewing from age five and learned to crochet at my grandmother knee. 😊 I also learned to make couture patterns at fashion college. Can't guarantee I will find one no harm in looking.
Sue I jave thoroughly enjoyed your ramble. Thanks gor taking us along with you😊
I love the idea of Audie videos. He is a gorgeous boy! ❤🐈
Audie is your fur baby Sue. Sounds like he was having a temper tantrum earlier. 🐈⬛😾
He's my darling, and he knows it. He has always been desperate for affection - that goes back to his days as a homeless stray - and anything that makes him feel the slightest bit insecure (like the change in the weather) sends him into a mad scramble for attention. 😹😻
Thank you for taking me on a ramble, Sue. Hope all goes well with your coming surgery and that rare cancellation makes room for you to go sooner. With fond wishes, Jan from country Western Australia, where the cockatoos outnumber the people thousands to one!
Ohh beautiful photos! I loved the painted bunting- a lifer bird for me that I finally saw and photographed two years ago here in NC! I love your videos, Sue!
A sewing segment sounds wonderful Sue, i would definitely watch because if you simplify like you mentioned it might be easier 😊 lots of happy thoughts you and your boycat audie ❤
would love to see sewing videos from you Sue. I, like you, started sewing at a very young age using my Grandmothers Singer hand machine {which I still have} and watching my Mother sew every dress I ever had up to the age of about 13. I did a lot of sewing in my teenage years and beyond and then onto my children for a while. I now have started up with sewing to stave off the boredom and although its just doll making for now I am thoroughly enjoying it. the problem is I now find myself with all these cuddly babies that I cant bear to part with!
Enjoyed this video so much. My grandmother was a wonderful seamstress. I have a beautiful collection of her coats an dresses that are from the 30', 40's an 50's. I do think a fashion designer would love them as the fabric an the quality of the sewing, is unique. I look forward to see what you create ❤
I loved your chaotic ramble. And I don't even sew.
Thank you. 😊
Please....Sewing tips are always welcome..Thankyou for your informative videos.
Love you and Audie relationship! 😂🤣😂🤣🥰😻
There’s a cement truck in Courtenay,BC,Canada. That has lights wrapped around the mixing barrel. In Vancouver,BC,Canada, the buses have reindeer eyes, nose and antlers on the front of the buses.😊
Tailor a man who sews Seamstress a woman who sews
That's the way I always used the terms. And since the male tailors made 'tailored' men's clothing while the female seamstresses made draped women's clothing back in the days before all clothing was made in much the same way, it made sense. It still makes sense to me. 😉
Refreshing session Sue! Agree- Ihave met a few women who know how to do their own patterns. It fairly normal in NZ and Australia because it was an option in high schools not long ago. With the beautiful wool fabrics there = you can get them in the thrift shops. Exquisite.
My mother used to say I could wear the clothes I made wrong side out because the insides were as neat as the outsides. I learned to sew making doll clothes and graduated to making clothes for myself in Home Ec class then furniture slipcovers and reupholstery and throw pillows and curtains. I had to figure those out on my own but love doing them. I made every stitch for my daughter and son when they were babies and toddlers. More recently for grandchildren.
I NEVER use a debit card online, only a credit card. I worked in IT for many years and security is foremost for me.
You probably already know this maybe already mentioned on another video..At the risk of being redundant, you should never have debt logo on the front of your ATM card. Therefore it can only be used at an ATM/bank, not at gas/grocery/retail/online/ etc. For that purpose only use a credit card.(with rewards all the better) 😊. Exclusively use the credit card for all purchases and payments. One payment at the end of the month, can be turned on/off easily and no connection or holds on any banking account. I know doesn’t work for some people but it does for most. Sorry for my long rambling. Love all your videos. XOXO to the screaming Audie. ❤
That's good advice, and although I have a strong aversion to credit cards, I will definitely give it some thought - thanks! 😊
@@suemeonyoutube. Your welcome! I agree I used to have a strong aversion to credit cards too. But these days I buy online more and don’t carry much cash so my the way of thinking about is different. I wouldn’t have one that charges a fee and I would want one with a low credit limit. If lost or hacked not a disaster like it could be if they could access my bank account. Well if you decide to give it a try let me know how it goes for you. 😊
@@suemeonyoutube.
Your welcome 😊
Must admit I've never heard of the word sewist here in the UK. I think I may have written before that my Mum was a gown cutter and she always referred to those that they were then passed to as machinists. If I wanted to have alterations done to my clothes, I would be looking for a dressmaker or seamstress. If a man needed a suit made or altered, he would take it to a tailor. If I was wealthy and wore designer clothes I would see a couturier. Are these words used in America?
Every term you mentioned is common here except machinist - here that's a person who builds or repairs machinery, usually the big industrial kind. It's a highly skilled trade as well, but it has nothing to do with sewing. 😉
Tha k you sur for your video today. It was interesting . I also do sewing . Please yes do your filming. ❤
Thank you. 😊
Sue consider changing from a bank to a Credit Union. In Central PA, Members 1st is a good one and almost anyone can be a member. You may have some affiliation with another credit union but I think you will find them more responsive and helpful than a bank. PS some banks are also not in good financial shape!
Totally agree!
I have an account at Orrstown now, and I like them very much. The staff at my branch has been there forever, and I look for a low turnover rate when choosing a bank. But it may be about time I moved my other accounts (the ones in the troublesome bank) somewhere else. I like to use at least two banks, so I'll go check out Members 1st - they have branches very close to the grocery stores I use. Thanks! 😊
Hats off to you, Sue - I learned a long time ago not to be totally honest with your doctor. Too many of them just send you off to all sorts of referrals and tests and yada, yada, yada. Usually amounting to nothing helpful. If you have found someone helpful and useful - I just go with my gut. 🙋♀️❤️👏👏👍‼️
Need 5/8" for French seams.
Would definitely be interested in sewing. My machine is sitting unused. Seam finishing is very important to me when I’m looking at clothes because they lay flatter and secure the garment better. I love top stitching around a collar so it doesn’t flip up after washing. I often hand repair my own garments and they are always nice when I finish. Blessings from VA💖
Where is the link to the sewing channels you talked about? Very frustrating no to have them. Thanks
Hello Sue! Hello to Audie! During the lockdowns I did watch a couple of channels that made dresses from older patterns. I don't have a sewing machine but it's in the future of my wants behind an air fryer. However, I'd have to know what I wanted to sew b4 ordering the fabric. I am limited again due my physical challenges right now my neck even more than my back. But was cleaning out cupboard I could reach of things well that were planned & haven't used in 4 years. So...I don't want that to be what I do with sewing. Though I know I want to make some wide (semi) leg pants.
Seamstresses are in need now so craft has to be more widely shared. Please do share your sewing.
I miss the how to videos. Wishing you a great rest of your weekend. 🤗💕🙏
I would definitely watch any sewing tutorials you wanted to share with us! Please please please!
Ooh a good trouser pattern, I hear you, Sue!
Would love factory sewing tips.
@suemeonyoutube Please, please do a series on sewing! Especially if you will show your tips! Yes, I too am a GO TEAM 5/8ths!! I learned to sew as a child. As I am 62, everyone asked me to sew on buttons, hem stuff etc. I went to my Girl Scout troop reunion & one friend said, “Oh,here comes Elizabeth, the only one whole sewed all her badges on her sash!”
Love your earings.
Ask your Doctor and Physical Therapist about compression leggings, to wear when you are active . I find that does help for support...Just a thought . 30:33

Sue, I'm sure that 80's sewing patterns had 5/8 seams. My mum owned a fabric shop at the time and I did a lot of sewing then.
Loved your show today. I started sewing on a machine at 8. My first dress was a simple shift sewn on grandma's treadle Singer. I've made everything from wedding gowns to men's suits to home decor. My problem now is finding decent fabric. I live in rural SC and there's nothing left around here but Hobby Lobby. They mostly have craft and quilting fabrics. I've looked online but i wonder about the quality being sold. My last project was an aElvis jumpsuit for my son's nursing home performances. It was red and covered with gold faceted glass rhinestones. Its different for me to sew because i have no dedicated space. Have to drag it all out and use dining table then put it all back. Too much trouble! Also I'm bombarded with requests fir hemming and mending from family. Never take the time to sew for myself.
I have some insight on your surgeon not liking physical therapy. Medical providers can get set in our practices and thoughts about things, and he may have had a patient who had a PT who did more harm than good.
As a Nurse Practitioner I used to dismiss chiropractic therapy as kinda fake science and ineffectual. Then a pain doc I worked with recommended i try it for my neck and SI joint pain and it was a game changer!!! It’s also been helpful for my grandson’s toddler constipation. I totally don’t understand it, but i now have eaten humble pie and recommend it and/or PT to my patients.
Love your videos,Sue! ❤
I would love to see your sewing videos.
I would love to learn from you, Sue! My mum taught me sewing but I am totally ignorant how to use a sewingmachine or how to make a pattern. You should start a RUclips sewing channel, am sure this would be a huge success with nowadays more people wanting to make their own clothing.
I had a seamstress in my twenties she was fantastic but she was not a sewer. I took sewing 3 or 4 times couldn't get it. I bought a brand new sewing machine had it for years never opened the box gave it to my aunt. I was told I'm a perfectionist and seeing is not perfect
Hi Sue! I watch and like all your videos but don’t always comment. I felt compelled to comment on this one. So many things to say!
- I’d love a photo slideshow of all the crazy and unique stuff that goes down your street
- I think it would be FABULOUS if you posted sewing videos. You know how you have “Just Chatting” videos and “Coffee and Conversation” …. How would you feel about a new series?! 😁 “Sue Sews” or something to that affect
Anyways, you may think you are boring but you definitely are not. I enjoy your content very much and thank you for sharing your time with us
I do sleeves that way as it is much quicker
I always wanted to learn how to sew, my mother before her stroke sewed all the time and made all of our Halloween costumes, then she made costumes for my kids until 2011. She tried half heartedly to try to teach me, but would get upset, then I got upset and there ended the lessons. I have a wonderful Viking sewing machine that does embroidery and a serger. I can do basic items but never a garment. I would love to see you do some sewing tutorials.
You're gonna wanna keep an eye out for the pattern changes I make to accommodate my linebacker shoulders. 😉😂
As long as you’re getting a doctor to do the surgery I see no problem with the therapy.
Sue, you need a credit card for those types of purchases.
Good morning Sue and Lord Audie !
Would love to see sewing videos done by you !!!! I don’t see, but my mother did see beautifully. Always admired her for it. I tried, but it wasn’t a fit.
The bank issue.. I know is tough, but I work in the industry and fraud is rampant and growing on a moment by moment basis. They’re protecting both you and themselves from scams that people innocently are duped into. Unfortunately we always pay for the bad actors. I’m sure your funds being absconded from you via the bank, would not be very pleasant. I’m sure you’d be very upset the bank didn’t confirm with you prior to paying. Sorry for the employees incompetence, that’s not acceptable.
You definitely need to do literally, a road show ! Would love to see the activity that scoots by each day.
Great video and have a wonderful day ❤
We have that little mouse toy and our dog who thinks hes a cat LOVES it. We have two versions of it from Temu. They are very inexpensive. Why do you not prefer the word seamstress? Just wondering.
I do prefer the word seamstress, and any of the alternatives seem rather alien to me. But people are now using different terms because they find seamstress to be too gender-specific. I've spent enough time studying linguists to understand that language changes, but I can't say I'm always a fan of those changes. My brain will always say 'seamstress' even if I can manage to persuade my mouth to say something more politically correct. 😂
I love to sew. I am not offended by Seamstress, sewer or tailor.
Sue it is a skill to be a seamstress or tailoress as they were called in Scotland, am sure you had to train along with an actual seamstress to learn the trade. Always wished I had that talent, unfortunately not. Have a lovely weekend hugs to contrary Audie 😊X
I agree, and I don't think it's an insult to call a skilled tradesperson by the traditional name given to their profession. But that's just me and I'm probably not as politically correct as I ought to be... 😂
@suemeonyoutube Totally agree Sue.
I have no problem with the term "seamstress", but maybe my age is showing too.
@suemeonyoutube The surgeon has a huge case of hubris & ignorance, Very Sincerely Yours, from the daughter of a very famous, albeit deceased, orthopedic surgeon. That’s FUBAR, Dad adored his PT’s & always coordinated tx with them! Yes, we ribbed him by calling him the car mechanic of humans!
I’m a fan from the uk. Can you give shout out to everyone with multiple myeloma I have this cancer also
Sue, Is there a reason you pay with a debit card instead of a credit card for online purchases? Credit cards are so much safer in this fraud filled world.
