- As anti-government protests in Hong Kong enter their 10th week with no end in sight, safety equipment including gas masks and helmets are in high demand among demonstrators.
Make-shift donation stations have been popping up around protests sites since the movement started, with people donating things such as food, medical supplies and safety gear.
We take a look at the grassroots donation system to see how supporters and donors help keep the protesters out on the streets week after week.

A simple Google search can teach you that the military spendings of the US is more than the next ten countries combined. Given their spendings on military, their history of meddling in the Middle-East and the toppling of regimes with the help of media, and given they see Mainland China to overtake their own economy, it would be naive to think that the US did not interfere in Hong Kong. Especially if you see how well-organised the Hong Kong youngsters were. I have seen soccer riots of drunk supporters in Europe before. Most of the days, it was over within a day. This was something different.

I’ve read that Taiwanese citizens are supplying a great deal of gas masks and helmets - but I suppose Beijing couldn’t exactly say it’s foreign because they believe Taiwan is part of China lol.
I always find the relationship between Taiwan and Hong Kong pretty cool, in that their governments are always at odds but the people in both places are pretty tight and always supporting each other!

My aunt (who is a multi-millionaire) has donated nearly $100,000 USD to support this cause and voices her opinion out there. She is over 50 years old so she is unable to join the front lines but she is more than happy to support this cause.
The Hong Kong people are committed to this cause and there are many more just like my aunt who have supported this so do not believe it is just "foreign" help.

I m an enforcement officer. I have been UC many times but I will never agree with how hong kong UC dresses up like a protester, throws petrol bombs and blames you the real protesters instead. neither do I agree with their way of doing things like hitting the suspect's head till it bleeds although he is already under control. this is definitely excessive force.and the sad thing is, these kind of incidents is everywhere in these protests. the hong kong police pledge states that "no officer should habour anger. neither should he do any acts of revenge etc". but for them to hit you all so violently, other than revenge and hatred, I cant think of any reasons.
I am awed by your determination, resilience and courage despite all these fears(I have rejected enforcement operations becuz I was fearful last time).

Name one thing that the people in Hong Kong could do during colonial rule that they cannot do now or ever since handover in 1997.
The relevant history are the opium wars, the forcibly imposed opium addiction, that enervated all of China for over a century, and the origin of colonial rule in Hong Kong.

actually as a mainlander, I don’t care if Hongkong will get independence or not. Personally it’s even good for me and each mainlander, that Hongkonger just eat themselves. for those stand by protesters: there are many films recorded by biased reporters(like this one) in hk , almost 75% now, but seldom hk ppl find the rest 25%. (i m there). that's why brain wash so successful. they shoot police with close up like helping the protesters how to plan and move, but seldom shoot the films about close up of the protesters like how those in the front armed or prepared. check and do deeper research before comment pls, i m hknese. we have the freedom may be more than you, otherwise how come 11 weeks.
