    there is a place both in your kit bag... I own the RF 50 1.2 and 85 1.2 and they are a pair you cannot mess with for wedding photography. I highly recommend you try the RF 85 1.2

      Hey Seth! Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, definitely. I couldn't agree more. The RF 85mm is undoubtedly the next one from my Wish List. I'm also looking at the 24mm f/1.8 as well as the 135mm f/1.8. I appreciate you being here!

    I like cinematic photography and I needed a go-to lens that will be my workhorse. I needed a wide aperture and a focal length which is more true to the eye. I have used the EF version and I decided to sell my EF and get the RF. It is so good. IMO, it is the greatest night photography lens on the market. Sure it is also a day lens but it is way more dedicated for low light conditions and cinematic photos. 50mm focal length is versatile and conservative at the same time in terms of its focal range and the things you can shoot with it. You do have to make sure your camera has in body image stabilisation [IBIS] , if it has it then get it. You will not be disappointed.

      Kudos on the wording. I wholeheartedly agree. What do you shoot with it mostly?

    I been thinking to order RF 24-70 as my first proper RF glass but now have second thoughts as I care about image quality and unique look

    • @FranciscoAlvarezTV
      @FranciscoAlvarezTV  4 месяца назад +2

      The 24-70 will deliver an excellent look and will be a great entry point into the RF system. If you’re willing to sacrifice 4mm on the wide end, stabilization in the lens and a lighter, less beefy lens then definitely go for the 28-70mm that I’m about to purchase shortly. This 50mm f/1.2, however, is my favorite lens in my kit and my definite go-to. I found you a refurbished version at a ridiculous price: amzn.to/3ITtdc0

    • @Tomek1Oko
      @Tomek1Oko 4 месяца назад +1

      I gonna use this lens mainly for my family and holidays/vacation so I don’t think I will be comfortable with such a big and heavy lens as 28-70 even that I know bokeh looks better then on 24-70 …

    • @FranciscoAlvarezTV
      @FranciscoAlvarezTV  4 месяца назад +1

      @@Tomek1Oko gotcha. Well, the 24-70 isn’t exactly light either but yes: much less than the other one.

    • @kevindouglas94
      @kevindouglas94 2 месяца назад +1

      The 24-70 is a fantastic lens and still produces a nice bokeh. I have the 50 1.2 and the 24-70 and there’s a place for both. The 24-70 is heavy but not unwieldy and the 50 1.2 is similar levels of weight and bulk. If you can handle one you can handle the other. I use the 24-70 now as my walkabout lens when I’m not sure what I’ll encounter but for a fun challenge I like to walk around with just one lens and the 50 1.2 has been one that I’ve never been disappointed when using. I love shooting wide open with an VND during the day so I can get that unique 3D pop and not crank the shutter speed too high.

      @@kevindouglas94 Hey Kevin! Thanks for stopping by. I'm definitely not going to disagree with that logic; makes perfect sense to me! I'll have to see if I can challenge myself to use JUST this lens for an entire wedding. Can you imagine? Do you think it can be done?

    I use a 28-70 great lens a real gem pretty heavy but not unmanageable. I’ll probably get the 50 at some point as it pretty much what use the whole time that or a 35. My wife can’t physically hold the 28-70

      Ever since I got the RF 28-70 f/2, I haven't pulled the 50 f/1.2 out of my bag ONCE and it's now my studio lens. No joke!

    totally hyped. I ordered this monster yesterday. Although I'm pretty happy with my 85 f/1.4 (funny you mentioned it) I want something to capture more of my environment when shooting stuff. 85 will still be my "frame stuff in a dreamy, beautiful away" :)
