Oh, those greens, Gary! I just can't get over them! That is exactly why I love green - the tone on tone is like the shadows and light in a forest. Makes my heart so happy!
Hi Gary ! Always good to see you ❤. WOW what beautiful color yarns. Can’t wait to see what you make with them. I’m sure it will be stunning ! WOW that Happy one is gorgeous. Trust would be my favorite. Love it ! Gorgeous what Hank was wearing. Blessings Gary !! ❤❤
Love your knitted scarf! Chads sweater also...ur amazing. Purple is my favorite color but honestly those yarns are a little too rich for my blood. My cell ringtone is Purple Rain. Short story and nothing to do with yarn, I hope you dont mind. Last year I was standing in line in Home Goods and my cellphone rang. A lady and her teen daughter were behind me. So she started singing Purple Rain and I turned around and said "Hold on a minute, Prince is calling me". She said "Ohh I hope not, thats not good" and started laughing. We both had a good chuckle. lol Anyhooo looking forward to the Mal Boards presentation. Have a great weekend!
👋 Gary! You chose some beautiful colorways. I have always loved a varigated yarn. Keeps me interested in the project. I will wait to see what you create next. ✨️ 🫶 🌞 Take care from Arizona...
Hi Gary! It’s always great catching up with you! The yarn is just gorgeous! I love all the greens especially Nanuya Levu & the Evergreen! Looking forward to seeing what you make with all the yarn! Until next time…take care! xx
Hi Gary! Love the yarn! I too just received an order from Wool Warehouse. Many many thanks to Crystal for being an enabler! 😂 I fell in love with the Lagoon yarn. I also got the green and a darker autumn color it was on special 4 for £10. I also purchased 2 different colors of the Sidar Jewelspun. I've wanted to try this yarn for a very long time and it was on sale too. 👍 A few others jumped in my cart as well. 😂 I was thinking of making a shawl with one of the lagoon colors and a hat and scarf with some of the Jewelspun. Or I can wait and see what you come up with. 😂 Thanks for sharing! 🤗💛
I'd love to hear what patterns you decide on for the new yarns you got. I have to pair a few with my yarns in the near future and put them into the ever growing wish make projects pile. I'm never short of what to make next (good for a few years if my calculations are correct).
The Chuck lagoona yarn would be beautiful in brioche pattern Actually they all would be awesome ! If you like shawls! Andrea Mowry has a brioche shawl that has a solid and a color changing yarn. It’s beautiful. Also the Pressed flowers patterns.
Good grief! I fell in love with all the yarn when you held up the organza bag. Beautiful! I can’t wait to see what you make with that stunning green. The yarn is so reasonably priced too. Great purchase!
Hi Gary, I love yarnsmiths yarn, I made my daughter a jumper with it and it's beautiful. I love the green lagoon yarn too, so very pretty, reminds me of spring. We have remembrance weekend this weekend too. It's not a bank holiday but we have a lot of things going on where we remember the fallen, we must never forget 🫡
Thank you for sharing your yarn goodies with us!! I’m working on Chandi’s Banda tee with some beautiful hand dyed yarn from a local lady, Th’Red Head designs!!! I just love the way you pair yarns. So artistic! Thanks Gary!!!!!
Hi Gary! All of the yarn was so pretty. My favorite was the Lagoon Colorada. I also really liked the one’s that looked like washed out beach towels. Thank you for the wonderful entertainment while i crochet. 🤗🧶☕️
I just bought two balls of Cloud yarn by Art Yarns. They didn't have one colorway I've seen, so I went on an internet search and found it. It's been shipped. I'm going to Jacky 3-ply hats with the yarn-the Knitting Place in Port Washington, N.Y. City has a beautiful hat pattern that comes with the kit. Dina filmed a quick video 📼 of his doing the 3-ply technique. It's very cool how the Colts get redistributed. Put a pom pom on them and Wala. They look similar to the first yarn you showed. The Art Yarns is cashmere. It's dreamy. So acrylic vs cashmere, I don't think there is much of a comparison, thanks for tead8 g the yarns contents.
Hi there it has been a while! I have been a little occupied and I thought I would pop in to see what you have been up to! Thanks for reintroducing me to mood boards… have not been using those for many years!!
Hi Gary, Wool Warehouse is my favorite yarn store for natural fibers, although my yarn diet continues to whittle down this massive yarn collection! I'm currently working on a pullover starting with neck ribbing, then using alternating front loop hdc and back loop hdc in a spiral (this stitch sequence makes a draping fabric without being holey). I'm not sure whether I'll add sleeves at the shoulders, or simply add cuffs when the length reaches my hips. It's a bit mindless after the increase rounds, so I'll be checking back to the past to continue seeing your journey from the beginning. I love the "faded beach towel' description of the summer colors!
Hi Cynthia - Thanks for letting me know what you are working on. I'm almost finished with a sweater vest that's been in and out of my working cycle for over a year. It'll be a nice feeling - as you know to get to some other yarns that are screaming at me... LOL!
Wow! I love those yarns! Currently working with Wool Warehouse yarns. The make it tweed is really great, I have used it before held double with a black yarn.
I really liked Happy then you showed Trust & I loved it. I think the two of them might be good together. I bought some of that Make it Tweed from a shop in Toronto a couple years ago & I still haven’t used it!
I really like the lagoon colorada. I think the autumnal nature of the colours would make a perfect Halloween mosaic crochet blanket with black as the main colour. Enjoy your yarn.
I googled Chuuk for the heck of it. It came up as one of the states of the Federation States of Micronesia. By looking at the pictures, the color way just may be this lovely island!
You are completely right - I had mistakenly thought it was a type of fish (but I had mixed that up with Chum - not Chuuk). I worry sometimes how my brain works.
@@urbanyarn youre welcome, I recently did a comparison of Yarnsmith Create, Specialcraft DK, Heyfield Bonus DK, Scheepjes Colour Crafter and an Aussie brand - 4 seasons 'Marvel'... so I learnt more than I needed to know about these yarns lol.
Last video I was a young lover but this video I am a yarn lover! FYI Stuart from The WoolPatch is making a window again like the Olympihens. This time it is a Jimmy Does Knitting pattern, Chianti Cardi. He is going to make a Christmas tree with the sweater covered bottles. Lovely yarn haul! I love the Lagoon green especially. I am curious. Have you rated a yarn 5? Love to know at least one! My friend from Peru gets knitted gifts from her mother in law who still lives in Peru. She doesn't like the feel of alpaca so lucky me gets what she doesn't like! I'm afraid if I get anymore yarn, my daughter will have me committed!!! Lol! Hank is so lucky! Yes Gary, you do have a new fav! See you next time!
LOL (regarding "Young Lovers"). Stuart's window makes are always so inspiring! Lucky for you that your friend gifts you the yummy yarns she doesn't use.
Hi Gary. I loved your video today as wool warehouse is a site where I can get my yarn without having to spend a fortune on shipping. Anyways I was thinking if you think it's a good idea to show us and teach us which certain yarns work best with certain stitches as although I've been crocheting my whole life I admit I do find it hard to choose which stitches go best with the right yarn . So maybe you can help? And the way you mix yarn and colours are just perfect. Is that something you can teach us to do ? Or is that something that a real artist can identify?
Hello Anna! Thank you for the sweet message - I'm humbled. I do hope I capture what goes on in my creative process in these videos for you to take away something that helps you. Talking about projects I've done (or am doing) showcases choices of yarn with stitches (patterns). It's always wonderful to see a make in the works or finished to help answer the types of questions you are looking for. Keep playing with yarn - don't be afraid to try new things and colour is such a person expression.
1st time to reply but recimmened by Crystal. Hello Diane. I'm happy that you commented and let me know how you found me. We love Crystal! One of the things I do when I want to try something new is wait for a sale and throw one or two new balls in a purchase. That way I'm not out much if I don't like it - or alternatively I can get more if it's a new favourite.
New subscriber here from `England. Trying to place your accent - to me it sounds like an Englishman who swerved round Australia and ended up in Canada? 😂 Yarn is delicious!
Welcome Lynne! I'm glad you introduced yourself. I chuckled at the breakdown to your reasoning. I was born in Australia and moved to Canada - so mostly you guess right!

Wool Warehouse is the only online place I shop now. I have loved all the Yarnsmith yarns I've tried, it's their own house brand and very affordable. I'm in the US and shipping is either free of $6, not bad at all 🧶
Wow! That's the way to go! In Canada the shipping to a bit more expensive to get the Wool Warehouse yarns - but if the sales are good that does make up for it,
The colors are absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to see what you make with them. I’ve have learned so much from you. ❤

Thanks Carolb for the lead on the brioche pattern!
Some of the names are in Spanish Laguna Colorado = Red Lagoon, Pinto means spotted or has specks of color
This is so helpful - it's the translators that always come to the rescue! Thank you kindly!
Gorgeous yarn, Gary, but you’re right: neither pinto horses nor pinto beans come in those colors. Will check out Wool Warehouse.
I thought the same thing!

That Laguna Colorada was TOO beautiful to pass up! Had to get it!

Lagoon is such a pretty yarn! I want to see something made of it.
Me too! I'm excited to bundle at least one project up with a pattern and put it into the future WIP pile I have mounting up.

It's the new craze - the yarn lovers who search for the "washed out beach towel" colours... LOL!
I think you could use the green Lagoon with the other colorways as an accent. It might really look stunning!

Hello Laura!
Very nice yarns and colors Gary. I am expecting a delivery from Hobbii today. Can't wait.
Perfect! I love when a new package arrives with yarn - especially from a wonderful yarn supplier like Hobbii!
Thanks for sharing, I have only used the Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze DK so far and that is great to use and lots of beautiful colours ❤
Hello Sam! I've been eyeing the Pebble Haze DK - perhaps next time).
Nice haul 🧶 Gary! I need to check them out!💜
Hello Rose! I know you're still in your craft-store mode. Wishing you every success. Keep warm out there.
Wow! I love those yarns! Currently working with Wool Warehouse yarns. The make it tweed is really great, I have used it before held double with a black yarn.
Sounds wonderful and squishy!
Beautiful colors. Great pries too. Appreciate you sharing
Thanks Kindralutz!
I did kindof buy one of each color... there's a four for 10 GB sale! (25)

……working just fine, that’s what Google is for!!! Lol
The Yarnsmiths 'Create' DK is made under license in Turkey. I would imagine it would be similar to all of the Yarnsmith brands.
Good find there. Thanks for helping the search on where this yarn is manufactured.
