I know you made this video years ago but thanks for posting it because I am preparing for a soul gig and this is one of the tunes I have to play. I dont think people who post playthroughs and tutorials get enough credit for putting in the work so that other musicians dont have to do the hard part of figuring out a song. Thanks again man.
I Can't believe you fullfilled my request that I did a couple of months ago. Thank you Dave! The finger positioning is tricky in this one, you have to move fast. I'm glad you show me how it should be played.
Dave, that was fantastic!!! Sounds just like the recording! Would you consider doing another LTV cover, Love Ballad? It’s a slow song but the guitar player added some great “fills” that filled in the space! Thanks for all you do!
Very nice playaling Marstro. Man.. this is classic back when Jeffrey Osborn was singing lead. I remember meeting them back stage after an amazing show and talking to the guitar player. He was from NC and was bald. They called him Onion and I told him his playing on that 335 made my eyes water. Lol Man, I miss those 70's and that's why I'm stuck in OldSkoolFunk.
The Rod Man...you could be correct. That show was 40 years ago back in my High school days...so confusion was prominent back then lol. The guitar player was playing some beautiful rythm though and I am positive it was a 335...for sure. We didn't see many popular R&B guitar men back then playing Gibsons...mostly Strats and Tele's. Donald Byrd and the Blackbyds were on that same show and Orville Sanders played guitar on a beautiful Byrdland. I'm pretty sure of that also. lol
Great job! sounds just like the record.....If I may add a request that is a great guitar riff but there is virtually nobody teaching it....thanks I have already started this one....but if you can please try to teach a lesson on KOOL AND THE GANG .....FUNKY STUFF.....and I am sorry to say it is more repetitive than this song.....but what lick!....I love it.

Nicolaas Jan You're welcome Nicolas. The tutorial is coming next week.

Thanks, I didn't know it was Jeffrey Osborne. it just goes to show you learn something new every day. Thanks for the info!
Dave Price Yes Sir...what a great expressive voice and he went on to have a notable solo career after LTD.
Actually the guitar player is Johnny McGhee who is from Chicago. Onion played the sax.

Very good Lesson ! Played this with my coverband and it is spot on/exactly like the record. Can you share the settings on your POD HD400 ?
Here is the online folder with all the Pod patches. Look for 'Deluxe Clean'. drive.google.com/open?id=15aaeIOK5LNTNTAg-cx3PFyEQg8ZKXPvy

Great job...some white boy funk.
