Love the unphazed spirit of the guyz (in ZA we call them ‘manne’!) > what fun?!? (AND a few beers?!?) Seems the driver switched off the engine quick enough and they clearly knew the ‘getting out the water’ routine. Great show. Says a helluva lot about a Cruiser’s ability ‘to take whatéver comes its way’?!? Enjoyed it stacks, thank you kindly - GREAT!
Good thing about the older cars. To remove the plugs on my Pajero you have to remove the whole intake manifold. So many things wrong with that recovery though. Hi dampener blankets, people standing in the dead zone etc etc
Yeh got lucky with the first car that decided to go through, it was going to be a hilux which would have been much more of a problem. He miss judged the level from the last time he was there, so probably should have checked before. Lesson learned. Agreed with the recovery but there wasn't too much tension on the tow, but yes shouldn't be standing around the line.
@@surf2summitadventure646 I sent this video to my brother as he has been heading up that way a bit with some mates. We went there Oct long weekend but I broken down before doing much and had to he dragged back to the road. Always a good idea to check the depth even if you know the spot. I've had mud holes catch me out before fortunately not bad enough to cause problems other than wet carpets.
Just drive it, no need to check the depth. Not like it isn't the first thing they tell you to do on a water crossing. Young fellas, gotta learn the hard way.
@@shanevonharten3100 Long story short, he did the crossing a couple of months before hand and it looked to be the same height. But yes, should have checked.
@@surf2summitadventure646. All good mate, we know shit happens but it would be un Australian of me not to take the piss out of you guy's. Keep havin fun
@@cizhall3627 to be honest, he did the exact same crossing a few months earlier and it was fine. The river has such steep banks towards the middle that it's very hard to tell the difference in river height. But yes we should have walked it first.

@@surf2summitadventure646 damn right. Leave the car open and vacuum as much as I could and it's been ok but still not nice lol

Nice truck 👌. Good excuse to chuck an ls in it. Good effort gettin her goin again tho.
Cheers Joel. I don't think an Ls would have gotten it across either haha. Needed an outboard.
I did the exact same thing in the same spot in Jan 19. No footage but I told Lithgow council there should be some signage.
Stuart Wing all you’ll get for doing shit like that is the joint closed down
