On finals night I got to sit beside one of the donors for the Blue Devils. She was older and was with I think corp members mother. She was friendly and kinda opened my eyes a little. Before I kind of hated to Blue Devils but once I spent 20 minutes sitting there talking to her I realized that it doesn't matter who wins as long as the corps do there best and the Corp members enjoy marching.
I absolutely love the use of the trombones with this corps. I hope corps field their own permanent trombone sections like a few are doing with flugelhorns
Gunter Heisler I don't know but from a personal perspective from high school band our school uses baritones only but I prefer the baritone to trombone for marching, but this was kind of the "year of trombones" for dci. Body visuals are interesting with the trombones but the main advantage is tighter formations when using baritones so I don't think they will but I could be wrong anything could happen
alec eads i march trombone and i prefer the sound i get out of them. they can either have the edge to them, which a baritone can't really achieve. but the euph has a deeper sound, so i guess it's a trade off.
8:34 Im so impressed!!! I know how you double buzz like that and i can do it, but theres NO WAY i could do it in a show. I have to consciously think about humming and buzzing for at least like 10 seconds before i can actually make a sound like that... Im so impressed you put that in there: and all of you sound the same! did you guys practice humming the same pitch?? How did you guys do that??
As a trombonist, I can absolutely tell you that they do no belong in DCI. This is crazy. DCI is becoming more and more like BOA every year. I get it trombones and slur up and down, this is left me feeling bad. DCI is losing its way with electronics and amps and vocals.
mr vengeance So since you play trombone, you decide if they're allowed? I also play trombone and think the trombone integration in 16 was incredibly brilliant. They had a purpose. I could see if they just put them in just because they could, but they didn't. I truly believe this show wouldn't be the same without them. As for amps and vocals I don't know what to say except DCI has to evolve and try new things out. If it brings a show to the next level then idk what they use.

Holy smokes I did not appreciate how much you guys moved during this show!
LOL. Good times!
I'm just loving the beginning talk

bobbybee12345 yeah, I like the trombone sound better too but I prefer baritones strictly for the marching side of things
bobbybee12345 also my band director hates edgy sounds so yeah... different people prefer different things
personally I think most trombones should learn bari and vice versa for versatility
I actually started on the trombone and now am the only euphonium in my marching band so its cool to see it with someone else.
Fun fact. My school bought these exact trombones that we’re used in this show.
This makes me so happy.
Victor Tran ❤️
I always liked playing and seeing the trombone in shows because there some cool visuals you can do since they are so long
your tone is really solid! especially considering how nuts this whole ordeal is, you sound fantastic; i hope to be there one day
One of my favorite show closers
"I love you Thaddeus" 2:12
"sean, not now."
Hopefully I'll be good enough to do this when I get older lol
Raider | Graphics Design Sign up for auditions ASAP

slideybloweyboi it's actually just rolling your "R's" the same way you would when speaking Spanish or purring.
slideybloweyboi We actually just flutter tongued! It sounds like you're thinking of multiphonics LOL.
Great Performance!
i came here just for the entrance at 3:10

YAY GO 2016 THAD!!!! GET IT!!!
YAAAS THADDEUS
I know yall use System Blue SBEU mouthpieces on euph, but what mouthpieces did yall use on trombone?
same
WHERE ARE YOUR GLOVES MR.
not really needed with trombone since you only touch a small area
yikes did any slides ever hit each other in all those visuals with everyone waving them around all over the place?
What kind of mouthpiece you were using?
c'mon trombones!!!
What mouthpiece do you use? I use the 51D for it's versatality but yours looks odd.
is dci in indy here?
Do they not make you wear gloves for rehearsal?
Yeah Thaddeus!
Rick Kodani ❤️
Man, do you guys move
let's go euphs
So why doesn't DCI let other corps use this facility during finals week? Seems a little fishy eh? This is like 4 or 5 years in a row? Just sayin'
Hello! Hope you enjoyed the show. And I don't think DCI regulates where every corps is rehearsing.
money money money. and first come first serve.
Was this your age-out?
Hwy what kind of trombones are those? I know the euphs are system blue by king.
Bach bones
Weird visuals but amazing show.
Euphonium are the best
I would hate it so much if the slide lock on one of those were to spontaneously come undone.
Are those Bach trombones???
Maybe the trombones are systemblue.
yes those are Bach trombones
YUP. Bach Stradivarius with the F attachment
Thaddeus Demeke I just want u to know I think you are so good and you inspire me evan know I'm 12 and play tuba your still and inspiration
Do all BD baritone have to learn trombone
Wait the Euphonium the same pitch as the Tenor Trombone?
A Mighty Marshmellow similar not the same
Oh ok. Thank you
@@jalooper6013 Not sure why Ryan said that. They are in the exact same register and key.
what go pro is this
EnTiTy The cheap Hero one... it was $110 ish on Amazon I think
9/10 not enough victor tran
Mouthpiece?
System Blue LOL
I remember watching them at dci
Bluecoats!!!!!
are you using a bach 5g as your mouthpiece
Nah dude it is a system blue you can tell by the shape. I don't know size though
I came for 7:07 to 7:30
THATS NOT THE PROPER WAY TO SET DOWN A TROMBONE TRIGGERED
haha gittit "triggered" it's a trombone pun
Can tell that's not a good uniform trombone embouchure in the section.
Soo many straight legs
Crown should've won.
Go tell BC that. Not the corps who also did not win.
Lmao.
you're right, star should have won in '93
this comment doesn't matter.
BLUUUE!!!!
the way he sat down his trombone made me cringe

Things evolve bud, so deal with it
Awe boohoo get over it and explain your reasoning to the board of directors since it's so important we must know you're a trombonist

Oh and I forget to mention that I'm from North Carolina so I defacto pull for crown but that I am a die hard Blue Coats fan
