American passenger rail service is an embarrassment compared to Europe's passenger rail service. American rail corporations have done their best to discourage passenger rail service. From dilapidated passenger rail terminals to trains not running on time, are just some of their ways to discourage ridership. Either the Corporate heads are incompetent or just plan lazy to integrate passenger rail service with their freight. In my opinion.

I don't fully understand it but you are correct with the points you made... Now all of a sudden Joe Biden is pushing passenger train services after decades of not

@@RailFanRob It will take time to bring passenger rail service back to profitability in the US, and this will be used to argue against doing anything. Here in the US we are at least 40 years behind Europe in Tram and Passenger Rail service. But, we lead the world in searching for the fast buck, over logic and in our long term needs. In my opinion.

@@luigi5890 one of the biggest hits to the passenger rail service occurred in the early 80s when Conrail removed all of the electric rail lines especially in Pennsylvania and did nothing with rail passenger service from that point forward... It's sad and now they think they are going to be able to turn it all around with a 3.5 trillion dollar package

@@RailFanRob They would rather not have any passenger rail service if they could help it.
