Chris, you are so right I we are enjoying you travels just that much......don't know how you are getting back south but if you come thru Mobile supper is on us......prayers for your steps
Hey Chris ,my name is John .I'm a truck driver from Phx Az. I just want to let you know that your videos are inspiring me to get off of my big fat butt and try a section hike of the AZT this fall. I was wondering what you think of the Oracle Ridge-Kearny section.(northbound) I am in lousy shape now but working on it. I will have about 6 days to work with and my knowledge/comfort level with the Arizona desert is really high. Just wanted to get your opinion.... Keep the videos coming!!!!! GODSPEED! J
That's great, John. I really liked that section of the trail. It took me 5 days to hike it (Summerhaven to Kearny). The Tortilla Mountains Passage leading into Kearny is especially nice. Great views from the ridgeline after the Big Hill. Hope you have a great time.
Chris, I have been enjoying your documentary of the Arizona trail. Thank you for going through the effort to put together the videos...last November I decided to take up hiking as a means of losing weight. Never been much of a hiker before.... I'm 61 years old and feeling my age but the more I hike the younger I feel.... been doing a lot of hiking in the superstitions and thoroughly enjoy doing it...lost 121 pounds in the process and still have a ways to go. My ultimate goal is to hike the AZT trail.... I will probably do it in three phases though.... south, central and north.....a month at a time and during the most favorable season for each of those sections.....there are very few quality videos of the Arizona Trail..... yours is a five star production in my opinion. I wish I had film of the first time I saw the Grand Canyon. It is so cool seeing your face and the amazement in your eyes when you walk up to the edge !
We were just there a few weeks ago. It’s a stunner even tho and especially since I’ve been there many times over the past decades, living in Az. ☃️☃️☃️❄️❄️❄️. I miss the snow. But was glad to return to my desert
Another great video Chris! You are still my favorite here on RUclips. BTW, I have become a member of the FTA (Florida Trail Association) see floridatrail.org. They told me that the trail you hiked here in Florida is still being worked on because it has a lot of road walks (gaps) and the very last part in the panhandle isn't done either. It's all done by volunteers so it takes time. Its official name will be "The Florida Trail". The FTA has local chapters and the one I live in is the Suncoast Chapter. I will be creating a new website for them on a volunteer basis. This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't watched your videos and I told them that. I want you to know that I highly recommended your videos on the Florida Trail to them, so if you hear from them, you will know why. They are very interested in your videos and I'm going to make sure that I will put a direct link to your videos on that website and hopefully on other websites as well. Meanwhile, keep hiking and filming Chris. You may think that having not too many views or not many subscribers is not encouraging enough to keep doing this. But please, just hang in there and stick with it. Your videos have made such impact on me and my fellow viewers (I'm sure). I know good things will come of it, along with great memories, and I will help you anyway I can!
I've been waiting for your Grand Canyon videos especially! At first I didn't recognize the name of Tusayan. I've heard it pronounced as TWO-see-ann or TWO-say-ann or TOOZY-ann (ha!) Thanks for the awesome videos!
Chris, I'm enjoying your vids and appreciating the info. So does Tusayan make about 14 days total of zeros for your trip? I'm curious because I'm pondering a hike myself and would like to start early but not sure. I wouldn't want to take so many forced days off. Hike well, mate.
Chris, I'm about to do my next section of the Arizona Trail. Flagstaff to the South Rim. Starting April 20th, 2021. As always, I review your videos for more information. You've done a wonderful job of describing the trail and your experience on it. It is beneficial. I want to do more videos, and I wondered if you were turning on some sort of video stabilization on your cell phone for your videos. On my Samsung phone, it's known as “Super Steady.” What do you do to keep your videos smooth, and are you holding the phone in your hand? See you on the trail, Dana Law San Diego "Magician"
