Only YOU could make Corn Husk Dolls beautiful and enchanting. The ones you made years ago have held up wonderfully. Another lovely video. Thank you. Blessings.💕
I started making cornhusk dolls for a Girl Scouts project, we harvested our own corn husks from a farmer’s field, soaked corn husks in glycerin and water and made simple dolls! I became fascinated with them and went on to make signed dolls in vignettes, making baskets and flowers from corn husks. Also Christmas trees of corn husk, with candles made with dipped thread. It was quite a business for a country wife! I love your painted faces and delightful ladies! Blessed and safe days!
I made these as a child but we made them with fresh husks during a fall corn fest. The boys gathered the corn and the girls husked the cobs. A treasured memory. Bless you for coming into our homes.
Thank You for the memories. It's been so long ago, but tonight I remembered teaching this in Sunday School around Thanksgiving & our town Library to a room full of children. They loved it!!!! I recognized the pages you showed of directions & like you, I probably still have them. As our daughters are 40 & 46 now, it has been a long time ago!!! But such a HAPPY Time. I'm still a sentimental soul & so glad I have come across you on U-tube. May God Bless You & Yours, Sharol Aid Cleveland, Texas
That's a nice memory with the children. I kept the directions because I wrote the article, but I'm missing the page showing the large quilting bee. When I saw the date of 1988, I realized how much time had passed.
Jeri, your dolls should be in the Corn Husk Doll Hall of Fame. They are exquisite! I really love the one with the quilt. It brought back a memory to me of my mom telling me about them and helping me make some when I was little. Mine was pretty rustic, but I loved making something from corn husks. Great video! Good things come to those who wait.
Jeri, I love that brand of dish wear! It’s from my country, Portugal 😀. I can’t go to their shop! I feel like buying everything there and I suffer a lot because I can’t 😂. Love your videos. My favorite part is the tea time. Thank you so much for the beauty that you share with us. God bless!

Very cute... We used to make those when I was a kid, we would sometimes use the last of the apples of the season that weren't so good anymore and make them apple head corn husk dolls. we would make small ones with the crab apples for heads and string them around the Christmas tree even.. lol
This was lovely to see you.shoeing an old tradition so people can keep it alive , your faces are adorable, and that soup sounds lovely, if fact we are have homeland soup tonight...xx
I have cornhusk flowers that I purchased 25+ years ago at the festival in Berea in many colors and designs. I also have some natural from the Appalachian Artisan Center in Hindman. If anyone is ever in Eastern Kentucky it's a beautiful drive on the Little Shepherd Trail, stop at the overlooks at Kingdom Come State Park, and visit the craft and art centers. A lovely area of the US.
I love the 'Potted Lady' with the curly dress and maroon hair. Wow! The end result is amazing! She has great hair and a beautiful dress and the sweet buttons top it off! You're right, she does look like 'that' queen. Thank You again Jeri. Blessings!!!

The first doll reminds me of the corn husk dolls I made with my grandmother when I was a child, she was very creative. I have a little clutch she made as a child herself using some sort of dried grasses dyed different colors and stitched in a all over pattern with a flower in the design on the corner flap. It's amazing it's still in great condition considering it's 100 years old. Corn cob pipes too, I recall seeing those as a child. So enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. I think I could do a better job of it now after seeing this. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving.
As always, enchanting & magical! Love your little Queen Elizabeth I! Amazing how well they held for so many ages...especially the acrylics on the corn husk!!! Loved that little corn mold pan for making cornbread in!😍🌽🍞😋🤤 Just a perfect Fall video! So worth the wait!!!!❤🍂🧡🍁💛

This was lovely, as always! I made corn husk dolls back in the 70's but I did not dye them... Now I would love to do some with colour! I had forgotten all about making them until I watched this video. I make squash soup, almost the same way as you made this soup. The apples add such an amazing flavour to these vegetables. Wow, that was fun! ☺️ Such Beautiful Ladies Jeri! Mm’mm delicious soup with corn bread, it cannot get better than that. Thank you Jeri for taking me on a memorable ride from my childhood when my grandma thought me to make dolls, much appreciated!! 😉💗💗💗
A thoroughly delightful video, Jeri. I taught a class in the 90s on making corn husk angels. I love your Queen Bess and the Quilting Lady best. I really like the nature ones too. I've not tried Pumpkin Soup but I think I shall. It looks yummy😋
My mom and I made corn husk dolls in the 70s! They were very plain, but we always made a little calico apron for them. I love the idea of dyeing the husks. I bought some Harney and Sons Irish Breakfast tea and it’s one of my favorites. The Hot Cinnamon Spice sounds delicious! Thanks again for the inspiration and the entertainment!
Oh my goodness, I never imagined you could do that much with a corn husk doll, but then again, your creations are full of character and charm so not too surprised. What a very neat video. Thank you !!!

I had forgotten all about making them until I watched this video. I make squash soup, almost the same way as you made this soup. The apples add such an amazing flavour to these vegetables. Thanks for sharing Jeri!
That's a lovely memory!
A thoroughly delightful video, Jeri. I taught a class in the 90s on making corn husk angels. I love your Queen Bess and the Quilting Lady best. I really like the nature ones too. I've not tried Pumpkin Soup but I think I shall. It looks yummy😋
Yes, Queen Bess makes me laugh!
You can get a good deal on the Hot cinnamon spice on Amazon, look for the box of 50 bags for around 8.99
Oh my goodness, I never imagined you could do that much with a corn husk doll, but then again, your creations are full of character and charm so not too surprised. What a very neat video. Thank you !!!
Thanks so much 😊 WE ARE ENJOYING YOUR JELLY!
