*UPDATE - Added my thoughts on everything* I was feeling really reluctant and jaded about sharing Dark and Darker content whilst it’s in this state; playing DaD like a Battle Royale was fun for a couple evenings but it’s gotten boring real quick. Trying my best to stay positive after SDF's messages, lets hope some changes are made for the better 🙏 HOLD THE LINE 🛡 -------- Lots of people asking for my opinion so I replied in a comment but I’m adding it here too for those interested: “I actually don’t have a problem with IM trying to close the gap between gear scaling; I was predicting that they were going to do something similar to what they’ve done recently with rings, cloaks etc. For additional context, I have a 9-5, play a couple-few hours per evening and make these videos for fun so I’m definitely not a casual but definitely not a no-life giga sweat with 10,000s of gold. My favourite way to play is zero to hero because killing a juiced kit with nothing is thrilling (tonnes of videos on this channel doing that). My main issue is the way they’ve handled everything. Massive gear/loot changing patch; reducing TTK; buffing Barbarian. They’ve changed too much at once to appropriately test things and I personally believe they should’ve either waited for wipe or tried it out on the test server (and only done one of the above 3 things, not all 3). It’s understandable people are so upset when IM have encouraged looting/crafting minted gear for arena to then make it irrelevant in one patch. Hotfix 68 was an amazing patch which actually encouraged and incentivised players to loot mobs and chests AND go down to crypts and inferno purely because the drop rate on higher tier gear was higher; this in itself, helps close the gap. For once I actually felt that conviction to check every mob I killed, but where is that conviction now? Looting feels completely irrelevant now and it’s clear SDF hadn’t even tested it themselves based on SDF’s comments in general chat. And no, squire kits should not be able to kill people in BIS, but should there be a higher chance that somebody in rares can? For sure. Barb and Ranger are so ridiculously strong right now that it actually feels pointless playing anything else. I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy myself in the first couple days of Hotfix 69 if I didn’t already have tonnes of magical healing gear in my stash. If the issue is there’s hard entry with new players then they need to add a tutorial level (killing, looting, extracting), nobody is reading the book of knowledge and most people aren’t joining the Knights discord. We need protective noob lobbies safer than
Finished the spectral campfire now trying to grind HR. Been rough surviving with so many barbs and bards. Thanks again for the warlock calculator been a great help
Requires a bit of gear investment but its honestly one of the most fun (and kindaaaaa toxic) builds in the game! If you give it a try, let me know how you get on 😁
Tbf, it's obvious the gear changes were the first step for the gem socketing system, but adding half a new system is worse than adding nothing, if they keep the stat progression that 69-1 had, and add the full gems system, then it could be goated. Patch #69 wasn't a bad idea, but doing an overhaul of the items mid season + making all the classes get oneshot by barbarians and Rangers made thar people couldn't enjoy and see the good sides
What's so wrong with this patch? I agree that something needs to change to incentivize getting better gear by dungeoneering, but shrinking the gap between lower tier gear and higher tier gives room for better skill expression. The global health nerf is trash, and Barb changes are a bit wild considering they weren't bad at all before, but I dont think this game is going to die from this, it seems like every streamer is calling doomsday over this. Like, you can't grind your way into winning every fight anymore, oh no.
Brother, you'll never see a genuinely skilled player complaining that they got gear diffed, only bad players with big egos that believe that they're good and deserve to win
the “gap between gear score increases skill expression” is such a bad take, you could easily beat a geared guy in an at least green-blue kit. you can’t expect to be killing people in bad greens and squire gear lol
@@andersonborges5377 if gear diffing didn't exist, people wouldn't be paying thousands of gold for BiS. It might not be a guaranteed win in a fight, but you've gotta be real fuckin garbage to lose a fight if you've got BiS and they've got some 800g cobbled together kit
@@dug5632 I agree this change was extreme, and there needs to be some difference between the best and worse gear, but the difference before this patch was wayyyy too large. It's a big reason we keep seeing people taking BiS kits into standard instead of high roller, it ups your chances of seeing people with shittier gear so making a profit takes less risk
@@andersonborges5377 idk if my other reply got deleted, sorry if this is a double. If getting gear diffed never happened, people wouldn't spent thousands of gold on BiS and high tier gear in general. I feel like this is a big reason people bring top tier gear to standard instead of high roller, it's a safer profit when people are less likely to have better gear than you
It was one patch, the gear could have been done differently, but I like where they are going. Game feels fun. 69-1 addressed some concerns with barbs, I'm fine with everything. I want them to keep going and for everyone thinking it's cooked, too late, all over you haven't been with the game long or you just somehow forgot. This game literally changes each week with each patch, nothing is set in stone, things change all the time. It will be fine, they told us there will be differences and rough spots along the way as they undo alot of issues in the game. Just gotta roll with it.
With windlass headshots and barbarian one shots overshadowing everything in the "What's in the OP menu this patch?" Conversation, nobody is talking about how busted warlock is with the torture mastery. It's just like back then. You can get almost half this magical healing from just squire gear too. You healed up from well below half HP back to full in less time than blue pots and bandages would've, lmao. If some of the other classes weren't so broken right now we'd be back to "warlock is ruining the game" conversation with everyone running TM warlock, the only antidote being the fact that you can mostly one shot everyone, including warlocks, although even then mostly only when they make a mistake that the funny Phantomize button can't save them from
I hear you bro, I was quite surprised myself when they buffed it to 15% - I feel like they did this because the class is ridiculously squishy right now and doesn't have the same firepower that Wizard does. I think the main difference is that I've had to invest into a tonne of MS and Magical Healing to stay competitive against Barbs and Rangers whilst they could still one/two tap me in Squire sets. In that first solo game alone, I'm absolutely cooked without the AGI and Cloak of Darkness once I run into the first Barbarian. Looks like they've practically reverted everything today so we'll see how it goes.
@@JarPapa Everything is sorta back to normal but Barb is still stronger than Patch 68 meanwhile we still are missing 15 HP, which Barb is least affected by, so... still painful imo
Nice vid man, i cant play pure caster warlock its just gets one tapped every time. Im trying BOC tanky warlock which has worked ok so far but hope they fix this gameplay 😢
Thank you brother! ❤ Movespeed is so important to make sure you can kite your opponents. They've patched and pretty much reverted (almost) everything today; BoC Warlock is definitely on the cards especially with everybody being -15HP less.
@@Lfmyjaw I know I know but I had this weird bug recently where if I right clicked my book or anything in my inventory it would drop on the floor so it’s given me PTSD 💀 me and my duo had to push back into a room we were fighting in just to try and recover the book I’d dropped on the floor 🤣
Hi loved the video! I started playing a week ago and i play warlock but everytime i cant get a good speed build or when i tire i spent 5k gold a 300 speed build idk what i am doing wrong.
Hello my friend! First off, welcome to Dark and Darker - you probably chose one of the most chaotic times to start playing the game with all these recent changes 😂 If you're looking for movement speed, these are the type of pieces you want to look for: - Loose Trousers; although they give -2 MS, they also give Agility which ends up giving you positive MS. - Lightfoot Boots with Additional/Bonus MS; Lightfoots have the highest MS in the game and the additional movement speed rolls make you even quicker. - Cloak of Darkness or Adventurer Cloak; both great sources of MS, the Movement Speed Bonus stat varies on CoD so look for ones up to 1.5%. - Fox Pendant / Ring of Quickness; Agility Jewellery. When building Warlock kits, I pretty much ALWAYS look for Loose Trousers, Lightfoots with MS rolls and Cloak of Darkness. Everything else is situational on what I'm trying to build. I plan on releasing a "How To: Warlock Guide" within the next week where I go into more detail so keep an eye out for that! Hope you find all this helpful - if you've got any more questions I'll try my best to answer! Best of luck in the dungeons
Hey my man! There's a certain distance you can stand between you and the troll where his attack will fall short. It takes a bit of practice (and a fair bit of dying lol) to figure this out for yourself. I created a Cave Troll Tutorial Video that goes over this here (timestamped for your convenience: ruclips.net/video/v4-MwDABndA/видео.htmlsi=EeS3sMi_6k4n9PT2&t=183) so I hope that helps! This was actually my very first Dark and Darker upload on the channel but its all still relevant today 😁 Thanks for watching 🙏
They changed this months ago, they capped it at 16 MH but then they reduced scaling and removed the cap. Can't remember what patch but I'm 99% positive about this 👍
