to take this a tiny bit further, the declination is set by your latitude and longitude, it is affected by the magnetic field, and you need to know if it is E or W declination.../ maps usually indicate it as a helper but it is always a factor so for example if you printed a google map it might not have it indicated but it still is going to affect your navigation./ technically it can change in our lifetime so the map indication could be wrong if it is very old but that is not likely. if you search magnetic declination you can find calculators and maps that will help. Technically our compasses should always be adjusted to the area's declination for more accuracy. Also interesting to me, most of CA is 13E/ the areas of declination are fairly large so once you figure it out for your area you are pretty much set unless you go somewhere far away. Great to see a video about this, most people don't realize it needs to be done i only learned about it relatively recently myself thanks for sharing.
