Hi, ma'am. Really appreciate your videos. Can you please translate each sentence to English. I find it makes everything make so much more sense. Especially for topics like Lydende en Bedrywende vorm and Direk en Indirekte rede
They will tell you what they want you to do/start with. For example the question will look like this: 1. Pieter eet kos. Pieter behoort... Then you know to do the behoort. Om te might look like this. 2. Die pa sit in die sitkamer. Hy kyk TV. Die pa sit in die sitkamer om...
I started learning afrikaans on my own because my wife to be is south african so forgive me if this question is maybe an obvious one but: is there an actual reason why you would replace moet with behoort. Isnt the meaning so similar that you dont really change the meaning of the sentence?
Hallo! Well done for learning Afrikaans. 🙌🙌 This video is not really a general Afrikaans video, but it is specifically something (infinitief) that high school learners study. Moet means must, and behoort means should, or ought to... so there is a difference.
I’m Afrikaans and I even come from an Afrikaans family, but Afrikaans has always been my least favourite subject. The basic stuff I can do in my head easy peasey without even thinking but it’s when they make the sentences long and add funky words when my brain kills itself.
The way these exams have us pressed, im glad I have a go-to Afrikaans teacher/tutor 😋🙏
Yeah🙌🙌❤️❤️❤️
Ek sal vandag goed doen met my exam 😂😊😄

@@kabogozahanifah7691 yes they do help
This is something else, also called the ininitief. But different than the "om te". There are different ways to do it. You will do it higher grades.
"Behoort te" means "ought to".
same 😭😂😂
Appreciate these videos alot
So happy to hear ❤️❤️❤️

I will do that👍❤️❤️
When do you know to use behoort or om
They will tell you what they want you to do/start with.
For example the question will look like this:
1. Pieter eet kos.
Pieter behoort...
Then you know to do the behoort.
Om te might look like this.
2. Die pa sit in die sitkamer. Hy kyk TV.
Die pa sit in die sitkamer om...
@@MsBadTeacher Pieter behoort kos te eet.
@@_Official.Kele1 Well done!!
Hello mam. For the 'hoef nie', if the sentence has 'om te' in it do you still put the 'nie' after the verb or is after the Infinitive?
Hallo. The first nie is with the hoef nie, and them the 2nd nie after the infinitief. (At the end)
Yeayy imfinitief
🥳🥳🥳
Mevrou, wat doen ek as ek 'n ou stadig Afrikaans onderwyseres hê?
🤣🤣🤣❤️
@@MsBadTeacher Ma'am I'm not being sarcastic😹😹really Ma'am what do I do?
mam what do you do if its probeer om...te... and. when its deur....te
It is the same concept. The "te" goes in front of the verb at the end of the sentence.
Ek probeer om my werk *te* *doen*.

@@MsBadTeacher thx for the quick answer. I've only started last week but I'm german so it feels a little bit like cheating 😂
@@laufsteakmodel 🤣🤣 Oh ja, is it quite similar 💪
