  • Despite rumors and public odds about a potential move to Florida, Drinkwitz seems firmly rooted in Columbia. This episode explores why Drinkwitz is likely to stay put, focusing on his novel running back strategy featuring Nate Noel, Marcus Carroll, and Jamal Roberts. Also, Drinkwitz's clock management skills, with a spotlight on the Boston College game. Additionally, I examine Mizzou's potential talent fee on football tickets and the ambitious $250 million north end-zone project set to break ground on November 30.

      He would have to get an A&M - Jimbo Fisher offer from UF. Thing is Drink hasn't experienced the same level of success as Fisher....yet. He is currently tied for 9th highest paid coach at 9M. @LockedOnMizzou Announcers messed up Cameron Keys, Jacobs was the only #29 on Defense for the BC game. According to PFF, Keys doesn't have any snap counts for the BC game. As far as the rule for player numbers in College Football.....Players can share the same number, they just can't be on the field at the same time. i.e. Cameron Keys and Khalil Jacobs cannot both be on the field at the same time wearing #29. HOWEVER.....Players can change their jersey number, DURING the game, as long as the player reports to the ref when entering the game. This is for College, NFL is different.

    • @LockedOnMizzou
      @LockedOnMizzou  8 часов назад

      Yeah, I'm aware of the duplicate-number rule, which I why I asked about the two having the same jersey number according to the official roster. I've never seen two players on the same side of the ball with the same number. That's why I used the Cook/Norwood example of them both wearing 12.

    • @chadkeeven
      @chadkeeven 3 часа назад

      Ope, let me clairfy, based on what I looked up, you were on the right track with duplicate numbers. As far as I know, you can have 3 WRs with #81, but only 1 of those players can be on the field at a time. If you wanted 2 of those WRs on the field at the same time, one of them would have to change their number. Does that make sense?

    • @LockedOnMizzou
      @LockedOnMizzou  2 часа назад

      It does, but what doesn't make sense is why Mizzou would have two guys wear the same number on defense.

    • @chadkeeven
      @chadkeeven 13 минут назад

      @@LockedOnMizzou Correction on my part. Starting in 2020, no more than 2 players can share a number on a team. So my example above is still good, just reduce by 1. Also I'm seeing that duplicate numbers can't be worn by the same position.
      My assumption for the Keys and Jacobs situation is that Keys is going to be redshirted and they don't anticipate him playing much this season. PFF has him at 6 snap counts against Murray State and that's it for the season so far. If Keys is playing next year more and Jacobs is still around, then I'm guessing one will change there jersey number.

    • @chadkeeven
      @chadkeeven 4 минуты назад

      @@LockedOnMizzou You're right though, it doesn't make much sense and doesn't seem to be common to have dup numbers on the same side of the ball. This is also probably why the announcers messed up.

    I hope Drink is here for the long term but if he makes the SEC Championship/playoffs this season it'll be hard to resist an opportunity in the future from a top program. The Florida situation is currently a mess but it's still in a hotbed of recruiting talent and a highly successful program. Plus, the way LSU is barely getting by, Ryan Day cannot win big games in OSU, etc. you may find Drink in a short list of names for a premier job in CFB in the next year or two. A bit homerish to believe he'd stay here especially given Cook, Burden, Wease, etc. are gone after this one.
