I like the old industrial welders too. Got a SA250 and two SA200’s they are big, heavy loud, and will shake every bolt out of your truck, but extremely reliable and they have arc stability like no other. Not to mention the run a pile of hours. When a bobcat 225 craps out at 1,500 hours a SA250 Took a swan dive off of a truck at 4000 hours then got back up and put in another 6,000.
Do yourself a favor and put some ATF in your fuel tank on your welder it’ll save them injectors in the long run and injection pump.

Ok you guys are gonna laugh at this one. My main welder went down and it was going to take a couple of weeks to get back. I didn't have any major jobs at the time but I needed another jobsite welder to finish. I didn't want to spend rental money on one that I was only going to need a couple of hours a day. Yeh got this bright idea to order one of those little DC toasters( welder 160amp) off of Amazon. Had plenty of generators at the shop. Well loaded on truck and went to jobsite. OK guys laughed at me when they seen this little box. Hooked it up and run 1/8 7018 rods and went to town. It run smooth shocker and run 5lbs through it with it with no hiccups.
Well guess what now I keep it on the truck for small jobs and still working. Got me out of a small bind and saved me money. Guess I can't say everything from there is junk.

i got the same tiny welder bought from amazon, mine is a deko brand.. had been using it almost than 5years now for a small gate repair.. only the downside is its not for a continously long hour of usage (more than an hour of non stop welding), the component inside get heat up fast and the arc will act funny.

On Hatz and Deutz engines there is a safety switch that kills the run circuit when the belt breaks keeping it from over heating the engine. Should always have at least one spare belt along with a parts kit of other necessary items to keep you operating.

Great video. It would help others knowing the difference in operation parameters diesel vs gasoline and the financial overhead i.e. fuel cost/consumption, general maintenance, etc. I would always have a diesel in the field and shop. You're lucky if you get more than 8 - 10 hrs run time (welding) on 10gals of gasoline. With diesel however you can weld 40 hrs on 10gals diesel.

cost me 6k only have 22 hrs on it and it pay for itself and some but I have to say it is definitely a good investment the remote start saves soooo much money in gas time oil changes everything and the EFI MODEL works good no choke to pay with and where I’m at it can get real cold in the mornings but it starts right up like it was 75 degrees definitely a good Investment!!!!
