I think the idea of a cover should be to capture the spirit of the original, not to sound precisely like the original. A bad bar cover band does the latter. With this cover, you did something different and original with it but you didn't stray so far from the original that it no longer is recognizable. I think this wasn't bad at all, so I think you succeeded.

I've just seen a documentary about an indie record shop in Stockton called Sound it Out and Becky played there. She just had a keyboard in this tiny shop and as soon as she started to sing I was hooked. She sang a cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart that gave me chills, never thought anyone could do that tune justice. Officially a fan.

If Siouxsie had this technology in the time when the original song was written, I believe she would have done the song very similar to what was done here. This cover does the song justice and it feels right. Well done.
