Amazing growl and punch coming out of it. People are complaining about the color...it's Mono Neon...what do you expect? Olympic White? My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a case that looks like your grandmother's knitted quilt.
i just played one of those a couple of weeks ago and instantly fell in love with it. it has some intangible quality to it that makes you want to play for hours and hours.
I love modern-sounding basses, this one seems to be great both at the stage and in the studio. Almost perfect. Maybe the B string should have a stronger voicing, but overall this bass is just great. People complaining about the colors don't understand that this is a MonoNeon bass.
Just ordered mine from my locally owned shop 2-27-23. Hoping it will be here in 2-3 weeks. Have plans for adjustments to the nut, but need to spend a couple hours on it first to get a feel for that neck radius. Can't wait. I'm like a kid knowing what I'm getting for Christmas, but can't do anything about it till Christmas day.🎄🎸

Awesome Bass; I've been a Huge Mononeon fan for quite a few years now; but I can't get on with that color scheme; it's great for him, he's Mononeon, but they really should offer this in in a few "standard" colors ie Black/Maple, Natural/Ash or 3TS for those of us that aren't Mononeon. 🤷🏾♂️ ... it reminds me a lot of my Fender Modern Player (satin) V, only better 😆. Great review. Glad you got hold of one first. Trust your judgement big time. Rumours going round saying they about 10.5lbs which I hope is wrong because if they come any lighter I'm buying one this month!! I think it will be a better companion to my Ultra P and J than the Ultra V.
Yes, it's just a 5 string player plus with a roasted maple neck, fireball humbuckers and case candy. The fireball humbuckers have 4 conductors so they can be split.
@@christopherfidler3019 I think the concern is less what the bass features but the Mexican quality control. If I pay 1600 bucks I want a flawless instrument. I get mine tomorrow and hope for the best.
Just got a standard 5string in fiesta red. Plenty loud enough for me. That thing is blinding lol. But I'm not him, it's his signature so good on him. Btw, super low action might be cool for funk, but if you want tone, let em up so it won't buzz. Everybody plays that buzzy sound now. Ikky

What an ugly color scheme that unfortunately could've been easily fixed for some people if they had colored the headstock the same color as the body and not the pickguard. Like for me, I'd replace the pickguard with a black one and that would make an incredible difference for me (enough to consider actually buying it)... except again, the headstock is orange and it doesn't work with anything other than the orange pickguard.
I would never do that to MONO!!! Lol... yeah it's a lot to look at! Not for me, but the bass played great and was ultra versatile. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Well, you could have two basses onstage for visual impact: this one and a sunburst. You could freak everyone out with this one and bore everyone to sleep with the sunburst.
I've been playing mine for the last 4 months,and haven't gotten laughed off a stage or out of a studio yet...It would probably be the player getting laughed at for his playing before the bass itself. 🙂

I ordered one because I fell in love with the specs. Gonna play some death metal with it just to piss off the sometimes narrow minded scene.

The mid control turns into a tone control in passive mode!!! It sounds nice.
That's a great-sounding bass designed by a true genius!!! The humbuckers are the secret sauce for punch and growl!!!
This bass reminds of the Roscoe Beck jazz bass a little.

Hard to make it light weight with those pickups and that bridge though.

The 5th string is subpar but again, you just can't expect a lot coming from a 34'' scale and a bolt-on construction.
I like the pickups ,would be nice if they put them in any bass but the meteora and this one . Hate the color 😳
