I enjoyed your "Book about Japanese Sword". I knew John Yumoto, he used to come to my house in Japan. I see Yoshihara several times a year. Dr. Compton was my father's good friend. I stayed in his house several times. Every summer, I visit Kapp's house after the 3 day show in San Francisco. The head of Sano museum, Ms. Watanabe was once my father's student. My name is Yurie Endo Halchak. I am writing (not finished yet )www.studyingjapaneseswords.com on my web site. Please check it and please add to your list of books (web) list.
Hello Walter! I've been binge watching alot of your videos lately and I wanted to take the time to first say that you, by far, are the most knowledgeable bladesmith I've seen on RUclips. Second, I'd love to see a beginners guide to making straight razors if you have any interest in forging or using the stock removing method you've spoken about on your videos. Your methods of explaining things really speaks well to me and I find myself learning more about blades from you than I've learned from anyone else. Thanks for your hard work for those interested in your art!
so many vids about the Japanese swords but I think this is the first one I've seen talking about books. If you really want to get into the hobby, books are the way to go, especially if you are new. I cherish my book collection. Thanks for the vid.
Great vid Walter! Fortunately ive already got most of them and others but your so correct that you feel like your only scratchinb the surfacs. Feel up the brilliant work. Please
Great ! I really appreciate the effort you put into all your videos. I have always had to learn by watching. Your work has been a great help to me as I attempt this wonderful new addiction!
1. The Art of Japanese Sword Polishing by Takaiwa, Yoshihara andKapp. 2. Pierres et Sabres by Milhau. I'm going to add the full list to the description of the video but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
