This, and Nicki French's 2000 entry, are the UK entries that stick with me more than ten years on. Unashamed Eurovision pop fun and great because of it. This video, though, is so bad it's good. :)
Lindsay is a great kid, with a naturally super voice, and deserves success. I love the view of the Sheffield Valley and Arborthorne in the first two seconds of the Vid. Go for it Lyndsay!
There is a little bit difference between studio recording and live on-stage performance. Her voice sounds absolutely brilliant in studio, but when she dance and sing at the same time... The song deserves highest points! I bought the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 CD just for listening miss Dracass.
She did sing as well as that, she just didn't have a shit load of effects on her voice!! The difference between recording and live performance. Just watched her performance on here, i think she was 15 at the time...which personally i think was quite amazing!!
@klarinetta: And SO ? Nowadays even Babies are able to notice easily that since a quite Long Time, Eurovision votings are based and done exclusively on 'Neighbouring' purposes, and NOT on Musical impressions and emotions.
@klarinetta: Buuuu! I understand personal opinions and 'tastes', but the real "Crap" is describing a Unique Song in such a poor way. greetings from Central Mediterranean, where we simply & particularly adore this great song!
check out 2002 which was even better than this. Jessica Come Back UK 2002 compare with the rubbish which won it that year Latvia 2002 I Wanna (Great stage show by Latvia though)
Big problem with the song on stage, why was she in that chavy outfit, in the music video should had the red outfit should've stood out. No cause the bbc had a poor budget.
@OriginalNoys This also got lost in the bunch of bad songs that year. I really only liked Slovenia,French and Greece. The rest was terrible to say the least.
Im gay and i didn't know it was suppose to a gay anthem though and I live on a tough housing estate in Hull so don't go by stereotypes and yeah the men are hot. But back to the song this should have walked it
UK & DENMARK were my favourites back in Eurovision 2001, Estonia was terrible, the ironic thing was that Estonia sent some excellent entries down through the years (2009 & 2015 particularly stand out) and the song they won with was rubbish, either UK or Denmark should have won.
best song never to win it
Amazing Studio Version. Greetings from German fan

Simply nicki song was treason
Lindsy has Tracksuit because bbc has a low budget she should've wore that in the music video

great song. I love it.
She went to my Secondary School... I was probally in Y9 when she did this song! =D
Feb' 2011: Lindsay is currently on tour as a backing singer with the brilliant Paul Carrack and his band.
Reminds me of Never Ending Story by Limahl.
Eurovision without Lindsay does not compete x

Came to our primary school ages ago :)
I met her on saturday the 29th of August in Sheffield I kept asking her to sing this she is still amazing
vældi fin sang dette her altså:)

mange goe minna
lots of good memories:)
Just saw Lindsay touring with Paul Carrack!! Great vocalist and lucky lady..i'd give anything to sing with him!! (well...almost anything)
Your welcome...this is the only song and video she made if i don't mistake. She looked great on the eurovision song contest.
Her CD is often played in my house....yes it should have been a big hit........xx
mairuz1 Its a hit in my house!
this one is good!
I love the red outfit. Must have been tight to wear just like the scoring at the contest x
She has such a great voice like Dusty Springfield. She was my no 1.
veery nice !
Look out for more lindsay dracass new album amazing.
Even in 2021 this song is still great
Can’t deal with the opening shots of Newfield Green though lol
Großartiger Song von Russ Ballard - should have won the ESC.
@Kesbol
Paul "Over My Shoulder" and "Silent Running" Carrack? If so, Small world!
@Xazy86 i agree with that
@klarinetta: And SO ?

This should of won Sweden came along with europhoria which was amazing! a few years later and then won!
They never copied it much did they x

this song deserved to do soo much better
Someone like someone don't

great singer but what the vid got to do with any thing

Come on Mae! This is the voice you should be trying to copy bab
this song was sang on the year i was born
Loreen Euphoria copied this :p
hellenic81 agree
"Euphoria" covered a lot of 90s techno, basically.
Jonathan Belk She was only 16 when she performed this in Eurovision, they had to get a special VISA to let her in.
formulacountdown Yeah, today, you don't need VISA to come into a country as a visitor
omg this is so cheesy haha

The problem she was in that chav dress instead of that red outfit.
Was their a budget issue, and in 2022 she did a new one
BBC had no budget at all it seems. Such a cheap video even in 2001
heppolo I expected this song to be a mix of Black'n'White and technicolor world, but no...
Sorry guys but UK had much much better songs than this crap.
...reasons?
Any reasons
@@Dim4323 Well I did not choose that entry. And does the 2nd worst result for UK up to that time say something ?
