The word "clue" came from "clew" meaning ball of twine/yarn. The word was used in Theseus & the Minotaur when Ariadne gave Theseus a clew, or ball of yarn, to navigate through the labyrinth. It's a string of hints that lead you to the answer. Or a guide to the solution to a mystery. The word changed from clew to clue in 17th century. Pretty cool, ehhhhhhhh? I already mentioned this in another Greek mythology video but I think this is a cool thing to share again. I learned this about 15 years ago and it was always one of those things that stuck with me as a really cool thing to know.
I just remembered how many great adventures both Theseus and Heracles went through. From the Argonauts to the escape from Hades, these two went through a lot
Ummm I am sorry but Theseus didn't show strength in order to obtain the sword and the sandals. He used his brain by putting a huge log near the rock and it rolled out as Theseus saw the sword and the sandals.
Well, Theseus really set the bar high for unification by taking on the task of joining Attica, but at least he didn't have to deal with rivaling city-states, conflicting interests, and the aftermath of Napoleon like those amateurs in Germany and Italy did.
no offense but at 4:08 theseus did not seem like he lifted the stone with ease, but as if he was taking the fattest dump of his life. aside that, this story too is wonderful in art and your voice narrating is one from the few that i find very pleasant to hear, even for hours. 😔👌🏽
Aegis has several wives (I already don't feel sorry for him) and basically, cheated on them with Aethra, and then she cheated on him with Poseidon. (What goes around comes around!)
He had many wives in an era where those wives had no say in how many women a king can marry. From our morallity, your comment makes kinda sense. Since the queens would often cheat on their hisband and king. We often have a marriage between 2 people. And all the parties in that marriage of Aegis gave consent to him having multiple wives and sleeping with random women. From common sense, context and morallity at their time, your comment is moronic.
@@BrotherHood-xh9sg "Kinda makes sense" my comment is moronic.....? The fact that you explain morality and still say it kind of makes sense says a lot about yourself, first of all. Secondly, all I said was he has many wives he basically treats like tools, and he courted a random woman who then treats him like he treated his many wives and I get called moronic...? You are obviously going through something and that's fine but please random user, don't take your anger out on me.
This were Hellenistic people the ancestors of the ancient Greeks not yet called as Greeks. The Hellenistic people were descendants of king Hellen one of the son of Deucalion or Noah in hebrews and ziusudra in sumer. They were guided by the Anunnaki or watchers they called gods.

How 🤔 would Yall Feel Fellas Knowing the Woman You Laid Down With Raw Intentionally Goes off to Lay down Raw to Another Man the Same Night?? Then on top Tell YOU it's Your Kid??
The words have not been invented to describe that feeling yet! But I can't feel sorry for this guy in particular. He has multiple wives and children with those wives, and he is basically cheating on them with the new girl.
Zeus and Poseidon are the original adult flim stars.
😂😂😂
Yeah its lit
Fun fact: Apollo was one of the first overachievers
They'd definitely trigger liberals if they were around today.
"Father of Gods and men"
It's quite literal

Woow . Coool another story from greek mythology. 😍
I knew Poseidon was going to do that
People often forget about the Labors of Theseus.
I would like Maury to give a paternity test to figure out who's the true father of Theseus 💯😄

The oracle looked high--oh, wait. She WAS high.

there are multiple iterations of the story
