  • Apologies for the quality of this, it was the broadcasters end of the connection which was poor. I had to cut small parts out because of the poor stream. I hope you can still enjoy watching it.

    I'm reading 'My Girls' by Todd Fisher, and have fallen madly in love with him. A magnificent gentleman if there ever was.

    It's so awesome that this family produced such beautiful and talented women for three generations. It's so cool to see Carrie working with her mother then Billie working with Carrie.

    Magnificent. The woman who didn't just play Princess Leia, she WAS Princess Leia, an extension of her own self, and always will be.

    I love all of the pictures . Debbie Reynolds lived in a time when actors and actresses had do much class . Debbie and Carrie were such beautiful people . I liked the speech Griffin Dun and Gavin Becker gave . Very funny and touching .

    Truly grateful to be able to see this. Thank you. I met Debbie once in Las Vegas backstage at her show, and she hugged me and said "scoot in a little closer honey" as we took a picture. Wanted so badly to see this when it was live, but wasn't able. So, again, on behalf of myself and hollywood legend fans, Thank you for sharing.

    This I must add, is just extraordinary. What as blessing to have an outstanding son, do such a memorial service as a history lesson on behalf of his Wonderful Mother and his Sister. They teach being charitable and helping others is a source for personal pride.

    RIP Debbie and Carrie. A side note: I know this is about Debbie and Carrie, but Ruta Lee looks great for someone north of 80. Seemed like a nice song. I would've liked to have seen her sing it!

    Wish the video filled the screen, and did not keep freezing. Pleased to see it anyway. I have watched BRIGHT LIGHTS, maybe 33 times, or more. Glad this celebration was made, wish they were still here, in the flesh, not just in memory.

    Thank you very much. I had tried to watch it when it was streaming live and it just wasn't working. To get to watch it this evening was a wonderful surprise as your recording just happened to be in my suggestion area earlier. During the show they mentioned Debbie's birthday as April 1 and I thought how cool, I am watching it the evening before her birthdate. I have been a fan of Debbie's most of my life. I was a big Star Wars fan. It was when I started reading Carrie's books that I became her fan.

    1:53 Carrie and Billie sing to Debbie. Besides Debbie's star bound "exit", it has taken me time to realize that Carrie hopefully died without pain and when she had a lot that made her happy in the Star Wars career surge and Catastrophe series being in England and having just bought a place in London and knowing her daughter had found her path swimmingly well too. She didn't have to grieve her mother more than she had already over the stroke infirmity then. Her daughter has good people who care about her in the remaining family and Carrie knew that also. Also, another internet deep dive maybe in the Guardian said she was hoping a British professor who would be smart and tolerant could be a match maker idea for her. She was hopeful and thinking of her third act.

      I didn’t see/hear anyone singing to anyone at 1:53 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @Ma_Ba
      @Ma_Ba 2 года назад +1

      @@EYE_GOTCHA 1:53:53 to correct above misdirection! There are also other sources of that with better synch of the audio to the visuals, such as the documentary "Bright Lights..." plus also I have seen it from that original performance on yt. Debbie Reynolds also sang that very song in one of her own movies - Carrie and Billie were being sweet about rendering anew.

    My mum has always been a big fan of Debbie. Growing up I reckon I've seen every one of her movies and they're all good. - One of the main reasons she took us to see Star Wars when it first released.

    1:11:40 point of Dan Akroyd's punchline, but start before that for the build up! I have since read up on Ruta Lee's career. Singing Debbie's favorite songs were cut off, as was Akroyd's talk, I'm sorry to say. I will try to index when Griffin Dunne and Gavin de Becker spoke. They were profoundly moving. Love and tears and philosophical. They will always have memories of Carrie and the shape of their lives intertwined with knowing her. Debbie Reynolds dance school and work with the Thalian's and memorabilia archives all are a fine legacy in addition to her performances and the succeeding generations of her family. Thank you Todd Fisher and Brandon Hayes.

  • @jeanjones5550
    @jeanjones5550 7 лет назад +4

    I noticed that the most dramatic part of the whole show was cut out. It was when the "Gay Men's Choir" was walking down the aisle going up to the stage. That part was beyond words. Is it possible to make a second video, just showing that, Brandon Hayes? Thanks in advance.

    • @GhostzReaperz
      @GhostzReaperz  7 лет назад +3

      Apologies, I just checked the original recording I have and unfortunately I don't see the part where they walked down the isle. I just see them entering the stage, but that small part of the recording is very poor quality (unwatchable) so I had to cut it out. If you were at the event you may have seen parts that weren't broadcast directly on the stream. The Debbie Reynolds website says that in the near future there will be a clean edit of the whole event posted, that will be much better quality than this recording and I'm sure that part will be included. So just keep an eye out there for a better version than this :)

    • @jeanjones5550
      @jeanjones5550 7 лет назад +5

      Thanks, Brandon. Yes, I was there sitting in the eighth row. On a scale of 1-10, it was a 20. It was that terrific. The Gay Men's Choir stole the show! So dramatic the way they walked down the aisle. I really look forward to seeing that. Brandon, can you alert me when the Debbie Reynold's website posts it? I really want to thank you for doing all the hard work you did in uploading this magnificient event. Hugs to you and thank you for responding so quickly.

      Unfortunately not I would have loved to be there, I live in the UK. I was only able to watch it via the stream which was as jumpy as this video, it was still very good though.

    Cerrie Fisher died December 27, 2016 and her mother died on December 28, 2016. So you really have a scoop here if this was in 2017.
