  • Going back to the end of summer 2015, we watch a local do a couple of runs on the old Maine Central Mountain Division with a GMTX leaser for power. The first clip, they are bringing an empty back from the Sappi paper mill in Westbrook to Rigby. The second clip shows them bringing two tank cars to set off at Dead River in Westbrook.
The first location is of the local approaching Frost Street in Portland, Maine and the second location is of them crossing Larrabee Road in Westbrook, Maine.

Nice video. How is the Mountain Sub? Could a train go from Portland to North Conway..or the line is virtually 'impassable' west of Westbrook?

+André S There are several crossings that are paved over between Conway and Westbrook, a couple of bridges that need work before they can carry trains again, a couple of small washouts, and a few other issues. Definitely no trains between Conway and Westbrook any time soon.
