    This was indeed an experience of a lifetime. Last time Denmark had a new monarch was when Queen Margrethe became regent in 1972 and since she made the somewhat unusual decision to abdicate for her oldest son to ascend to the throne, this is a more historic event than usual since that has not happened in Denmark for more than 700 years.

    If you were only at Amalienborg that day ( January 14th ) you did not really see much of the Official parts of the transition from the Queen to the King. All the Official parts took place at Christiansborg, the building of our Government and Parliament. Amalienborg is only, where the Royals live. The recordings on here was from after the Royals returned home to Amalienborg.
