omg..I haven't had my tv working for weeks. I fixed it because of you! Thank you..I'm so darn proud of myself..a single, divorced woman..who didn't want to buy a new TV. You're the best.
Recently found out I am pregnant. We are soooooo happy to see your video. Looked at service manuel. Hubby replaced the x-drive assembly and AC inlet. Taped down trap switch. Got stuck. Saw your awesomely informative video. IT WORKED!!!! Hubby has T.V.. Mommy gets basinett. You saved his life and our marriage. Thank you. :)
This worked for me on a Pioneer 435 plasma! Thank you! The “display” button is the “info” (with the symbol i+) button, which is under the 7 button in my case.
Hi I have 2006 pioneer plasma and last week l had 8 blinks of the blue light and I did exactly what you said . thank you so much my TV is working again
Thanks bro! After buying and installing a power supply i saw your video so i tracked down an original remote on ebay. And followed your directions and got my 50inch pioneer back working perfect. I appreciate you!
Hey I'm not sure if the person that posted this video is still around. Video is quite old...however please no that your video just saved me $300. A massive thank you! I can't say it enough...this video saved me. Good stuff bro
I'm so glad you posted this. I have an old Pioneer and thought, "You know, the cooling fans in this thing are over 10 years old, I think I'll open the box and oil those fans. I saw the switch in there. I was sure there was a way to reset the TV box but was clueless. Your vid saved me a lot of frustration, thanks a lot! The TV is not where I am right now but I'm confident it will work.
I have a pioneer 5020fd and it goes on standby whenever it wants. It takes me from 20 mins up to 2 hours for the tv to come back on. I tried your method but with the original pioneer remote and it's still not working. Do you have any suggestions.
Ive noticed some people have been questioning about the stupid pioneer trap switch, if you loose your pioneer remote download the exact remote code first before you turn the tv on, make sure everything is put together exactly before you even attempt to plug it in.
Hello ~ Hoping the Original Poster of this great video is still out there. I have a Pioneer PDP-5070 and it was showing an 8 blue led blink code. Opened it up without knowing about the trap switch. Your video got me to the point where the Display, Left, Up, Left, Right, Power On activated the set (fan came on and an orange light on the Main Board comes on). However, .... at this point I would have suspected the 8 blue blink code to come back into play but it did not. There is nothing on the screen so I can't really get to the Initialize Screen in order to reset it. Is there a way I can prompt the Service Menu screen to come on even though the 8 blue blink fault might be prohibiting the screen to come on in the first place? ~ D
Hi Tubertowner881, I experienced the same issue you did. My Pioneer Plasma had the 8 blue led blink code and I took off the back panel without knowing about the tamper switch. I am unable to get the device back to the 8 blue blink code. I followed the instructions on this video and I can hear it turning on the screen but a second later it turns off (probably related to the 8 blue blink code). The solid blue and red light remains. Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thanks!
Hello, I have the Pioneer PDP-505XDE and and my remote don't have a display key. The model of my remote is AXD1494. Do you know which button could correspond to display key? Thanks
Hi there, I have a Pioneer PDP-436PG Plasma that I found without a remote. Will a Universal remote work on it or do I just need any Pioneer Plasma remote to work it???

hi bought a new pdpr05xe media box without any remote control for it, it wont power on, with my old remote, do I have to programme it to work the new box? thanks neil..
im not sure if you have the answer but i have the model which is 1 step down from the elite model. I have a PDP-504PU 50inch . i removed the rear cover to get al the dust particles out of it and i have the same problem. I'll try again of what you performed on the pioneer remote but when i do it the t.v. shuts off . is there any other code fo my model or is the code you did in this video the same for pioneers plasmas ? mine was made october 2004 if that helps any and thanks in advance !
@@z28r2fast4u hey your video DID help me ! I love techy, nerdy, geeky stuffs, 😁 But hey it would appear to me that the amount of shielding and ferrite in the earlier generations were immense compared to 8&9 G. Hence why I’ve super tweaked my KRP-600M internally immensely and screwed her back together again.

z28r2fast4u I have a Pioneer Plasma PDP 6010 that will not get passed the "display starting up". This happened after a power surge. The blue LED light blinks 12 times but no picture comes on. Any ideas
Yes, It is the electronic "TV Guide" that is locking up your TV (because there is no electronic "TV Guide" anymore) If you can get into the Service Menu (by following the steps in this video), you can disable the TV Guide function (or so the experts on AVS.com say)
Hi There. I have a Pionner model PDP-R05G and the remote control is a Model AX1492 and don't have a display botton. how I can reset the trap switch? and I think that my remote is damage
They added that switch just because they don't want anyone to tamper with it? That's the first time I've ever seen any mfg do such a thing. I'm sure they a have a reason for it, but I just find it odd. :) Anyways, thanks for sharing!

I have a Pioneer Plasm TV PDP S38 with a Media Receiver PDP RO6 G The media receiver flashing blue light whilst on standby & when pressing the remote to turn on the tv the tv comes on then turns off after only 2/3 seconds - the picture & sound come on ok on the tv for the 2/3 seconds. Can anyone please help fathom out what the problem is:-/
Hey thank you for your response. The media receiver blinks 8 times pauses then same again. Have researched this & discovered it is one of 2 things. Power board on tv - should be 5 volt standby if lower to none volt then the power board needs replacing. The other is the IC Regulator on tv on the input circuit board - voltage. It is a small part no bigger than the human fingernail that needs to be heated to allow it to be unsoldered then the new part in position & tack soldered into place then heated & falls into place desoldering itself. The process is under "8 flashing on standby" power board or IC regulator - so easy to fix if could get the part however think I leave it to t5he expert of a local tv repair man. Interesting though at least I know what I'm talking about so won't get misled by repairer & stung a hefty fee. Thanks again Hey whats this z28r2fast4u how about 300zxr2fast4u haha!
