I got inspired from other artists who've used tape to mask off areas and then paint a design! I used gold gesso for the under painting. I used about 2 or 3 coats to get a nice even coverage. I then used some thin tape to mark off areas. For the main painting, I did a night time sky piece with Prussian blue, white, sy blue and light magenta. I did one layer of paint then let it dry. I did a second layer to get a nice blending of color and coverage on the painting. I was having trouble blending with a paint brush, so I just decided to use my fingers! The finger painting worked out well for the blending I wanted to achieve! I finished the painting but dripping white paint on the canvas to create stars.
