Hi Marie! Depends on where in Tampa.. for us to get to the Tampa airport is under an hour with minimal traffic. Further into Tampa could be 1 hour+, but still not like commuting to NYC from outside the city! LOL
Hi: Thanks for the info. My husband and I live in New York City and have been to Lakewood Ranch twice to check out retirement communities. We LOVED everything about Del Webb and even found the house of our dreams. Our only concern and it gives us great concern, is that the 2 times we visited this community, it was dead! There were hardly any residents at the pool, the bar, the restaurant, the fitness center. We don’t want to live in a community that isn’t lively. We will be 66 when we retire and we are both very active (workout every day) and we enjoy a great social life with friends and family. Again, we are very sociable people and hope to be in a community where we can make new friends and have a ACTIVE life. Can you possibly tell me anything about the Del Webb community? This would be a major change for us moving from New York. Appreciate any feedback. Sincerely, Esther
Hi Esther, did you look at any other villages in Lakewood Ranch? Del Webb is beautiful but I do understand your concern that many residents are not full time. An area like Esplanade and Indigo also have very active lifestyles and activity directors on hand, but more residents are full-time so you might see activities year round, rather than just during peak season. I am happy to send you some more information if you want to email us! Contact@chenkus.com :)
Sold By Chenkus Hi: thanks for getting back to me. We looked at Cresswind in Lakewood Ranch but I wasn’t crazy about any of the models. Looked at Ava Maria by Del Webb which they advertise as being in Naples, which is a total lie. It’s an hour from Naples and the area was DEAD. We hated it!!!!! We also love Bonita Springs, Valencia Bonita by GL Homes but slightly more than we wanted to spend, like over $500K. We are more comfortable with $375-$450 thereabouts. I will look into the communities you mentioned though. Thank you so much for your help.
Thanks for the tips, planing a Vacation to the area in April.
That is great! You are going to love it here! Let us know if we can make any suggestions or recommendations! :)
Not only Florida, but one of the best locations in Florida. No state income taxes.
Great info!
Very nice!
Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed it!
It’s weird. It’s got heavy traffic and yet empty.
Would it not make sense to live in Lakewood ranch if you have to work in Tampa? Too far of a drive? From nyc

@@estherlugo8069 Anytime! Let me know what you think once you take a look at those.
Sold By Chenkus Hi: Unfortunately none of the Neal communities are age restricted. Rick and I are looking for a 55+ Active Adult community.
@@estherlugo8069 Ah, I understand. Yes Lakewood Ranch only has two right now.. Del Webb and Cresswind, as you mentioned.
Are all these communities have hoa fees. Thank you.
Every community in Lakewood Ranch has some type of HOA fee and it varies from $100/year to over $500/month depending on the village!
