EM Loses The best layout imo is the one with the two water pools running vertically across the room. If you get him on the narrower sides and roll into the middle area it gives you so much more dodge room as he'll be unable to follow you around with his minigun jammed up your ass.
That's the name of the game when you speedrun things like ETG though. You have to pray to RNGesus to give you a fast route and some useful items along the way - and that will most likely only happen if you take 1000+ runs at least. The last part is not really different from any other speedrunning games - practice makes perfect and every second needs to be shaved off where they can; be it through RNG, game understanding, skill or all of these and more :)

Funny thing is- aside from the REALLY fast running from place to place and skipping shops, this is mostly how a really good player plays. Rougelikes like this are meant to be speedruns in away.
Even when not speedrunning I much prefer her to anyone else simply because her basic gun is so freakin good - both DPS-wise and for faster in-combat reloading of other guns. EDIT: Not that I speedrun, I just meant in a casual context ^^
@@commanderleo After like 100h I still think Gatling Gull is more random and therefore difficult then other Floor 3/4 bosses like Mine Flayer, Pillars and Treadnaught (who is usually a Master Round for me). idk but Gatling Gull manages it to shoot weird bullet directions which are strange to dodge when there are no hiding spots inside of the room, similar to Ammoconda and I hate her too for her RNG :D
Repsect, all the rooms and drops are complete random, so you can’t strategize due to the shifting walls and the different enemies per room. So doing a speed run of this should be pretty hard

You can strategize a little bit about your route -- after you've seen countless random dungeons generated you can kind of recognize patterns, to some extent, in the way the game generates rooms. There are guides to recognizing this on ETG speedrunner forums, but it still takes a lot of experience (or at least it did for me). Even then, there's a luck element too, so getting a good speedrun is about playing consistently enough that when you do get solid RNG, you can take advantage of it and not waste it!
I remember this run so well from way long ago when I haven't even considered running this game and I never commented on it but this was one of the first OG runs of gungeon that really impressed me and led me to trying speedrunning this game myself and eventually beating out your run with dumb luck haha. Great run, well executed.

Since the Convict character gets damage bonuses when she takes damage, I see any leftover hearts at the end of a Convict run as time I could have saved by getting in touch with my inner berserker heedless of danger for a few more seconds. :)

Spurdo mies I find that everyone has their own opinion on which bosses are easiest and most difficult. Some find certain bosses impossible while others find it a cakewalk. Personally, I think Cannonbalrog is the easiest of the chamber 3 bosses by far, but it's pointless to say that any one boss is objectively the toughest.

On the Convict, you actually want to get hit on purpose in order to instantly reload your weapon and get a big damage boost. For speedrunners, your life bar is basically an ammo bar for Enraging Photo (as long as you're confident your dodging is consistent enough that you can survive at half a heart left).
You can get slightly more hits in per second if you move away from the beholsters beam before you roll into it, could've cut a second or two off the run
I mean seconds like that are probably way less impactful than luck on gungeon runs, obviously you need to be able to do bosses well, but more important is finding boss room quick, also good guns can really speed up everything
I don't know for sure where they are, but I can make educated guesses about which route will get me to the boss faster based on the rooms I've already seen on a floor and some tendencies / limitations of the map generation system. Good drops are of course going to make for a faster run than bad drops. That said, I find my times swing more based on how quickly I can find the boss than any particular piece of gear. I've had a few runs that were nearly as fast (a little over 16 minutes) using less flashy items like the Hegemony Carbine + Double Vision for most of the run, for example.
I was actually (usually =P) getting hit on purpose to activate the Convict's Enraging Photo and clear faster. The Convict's Enraging Photo significantly boosts your damage and instantly reloads your weapon when you get hit. So if you're confident in your dodging skills, you can afford to let something bring you all the way down to half a heart in order to kill things faster.
I never made it to the last boss so when I saw it was a dragon shooting uzi’s I was both hilariously amazed in the design and pissed that I couldn’t witness it on my own. Lol
aziz I believe it. But it’s still crazy though. I just can’t get past like floor 4 most times from bad luck with drops or enemy placement. I’ll give it another shot one day

I did the same thing back then. Long after I beat him that time I realized that was a special boss
blocker is nothing compared to the hell that is treadnaught.
Treadnought is the easiest boss of that floor. You just need to lead the tank around the room and stick to the edges.

Boss Rush runs do, but the basic runs have a DPS-limit enabled for every boss. The S and A tier guns almost all surpass the limit.
Don't forget really fast chamber 1 boss with wrecktangler drop. Really good shotgun.
