Ive been using the pard version of this for 2 or 3 years now and the entire time I couldn;t understand why the shooting community wasn't a amazed by it as I was. Now the Zulus is out everyone is going mad over it, so it turns out the reason people didn;t go mad over the pard is because hardly anyone had one but loads of people have the Zulus... Price is the key, I guess £900 was a bit much for most people, but people are willing to part with £600. I have both now, the pard is a bit better but it is not £300 better
I have now tested them side by side. The pard 008 for sure has better image quality and not just a bit better either, with the pard I can clearly see the shoot n see target splats in the dark at 135 yards, the Zulus is very grainy at that distance and cant make out any small details on the target. The Zulus also has more lag and is more framey. You can tell the pard is the more expensive unit. I think what it is, is that not many people ever bought the pard 008s lrf so they never really knew how amazing it was, the zulus was more affordable so a lot of people bought it and saw how good that type of scope is not knowing the pard was there all along and was actually even better. This being said, I think the zulus is fantastic for the money and I will be keeping it.@@airhunteruk
@@airhunteruk yeh they look it too, I had a session on the rats last night following a request from a local farmer and I had the hw 100kt in 177 with the Sightmark wraith 2-16x28 mounted and you know last night that unit was absolutely spot on and did everything I wanted, and the picture quality was good too, maybe not as good as the Arken Zulas but every shot I took it hit the mark using Hades and was out for nearly three hours ad still had half battery power left. But last night was comical and reminded me of an old film called sergeant York with Gary Cooper, I was asked to sort some rats that have been coming to an ad-lib sheep feeder in a field next to a beck and were coming in and crapping in the feed but because the sheep were still around and feeding my shots had to be taken with care as some were under the feeder and I had to watch out for the sheep’s feet so I got out my squeaker that came from an old dogs toy and if I’d see one and couldn’t take the shot I’d give a couple of squeaks and they would show themselves giving me that safe shot I needed, it did make me giggle as it reminded me of the film where sergeant York would give that turkey call to get the heads up of the soldiers when he took out the German machine gun positions in the film. But as for the wraith mate for less than £300 they do the job.
it has the sony 4k sensor then, i think this one boils all that down to you seeing it in 1080, so filmed in 4k converted to a 1080 screen resolution, that quality drop is minimal from a technical perspective, i wonder if trying to replay the footage back to the screen in 4k that could take a bit of processing powers = this equals a quality shift of sum kind maybe/ making the ARKEN easier on the eye a warmer cleaner screen to look at, looks like it zooms in and out a lot better then most ,. im getting this one when its released in the USA im calling mailing them to find out when , it was between this and the nv400 commander in the 700 dollar price point , im going to try and get the ARKEN , i looked into the ATN because i heard so many bad reviews with sum good and i live in to remote of area to get into shipping it back and forth to the factory sounds not fun and there best scope is about 1200 im going with the ARKEN,,, also as you pointed out its about half the size of most of the comp , any way thats my theory on the quality they went with something that looks great and clean as they smoothed out the processing and made it more simple records and you see in 1080 as it all boils down to that,, however still has the sony 4k sensor just like all the top scopes are using ATN is claiming there sensor is even better above 4K equals more pixels , any way as we can see its ARKEN with a more simple geared formula and ended up hitting a home run,.
Would love to see how it performs at closer ranges e.g. barn work - rats. Thinking the 5x might be a smidge too much (3x would be great), but would love to get my hands on one, and at £600 - wow!
Hi there how can I put in ballistic info into the unit ? I shooting 10.5g pellets on Daystate 12lbs energy rifle. I don’t have h graff so can’t tell accurate speed of a pellets
video mate, Question please , so once you zeroed it in 7 7 you balistic info you have put in , The next time you use it and turn the Scope on do you have to do anything else like go in to the menu and turn anything on or go into the arken app and do anything there ??

Oh I can’t remember if I told you but I wanted a cheap but good 22 for indoor ferals because my hw100 in 177 some pellets were travelling straight through and putting holes in the sheeting and as I didn’t was to upset the owner I stopped until I got my hands on another pcp in 22. So I opted for the Reximex Myth and for less than £400 honestly it’s hellish, it has one hell of a bark to it so I popped through to my local rfd and picked up a A-Tec wave silencer for £39 and my god and I’m going to push my neck out here but it’s quieter than a Weihrauch one and looks great on the rifle. So that’s my new toy, oh and I’ve bought a wulf compressor too so I’ll never be out of air. I may wait until the bank holiday as there may be some sales to be had so I may hold off until then before I commit to a Zulus.
@@airhunteruk just ordered one! But I’ll be staying in for the foreseeable future now! Bread and water for the next six months, or rabbit pie if I see any about as they are like rocking horse crap around here.

When using the ballistic calculator does it give a new aim point on the reticule or do you have to check the app on your phone. Much clearer picture than my nv systems.

I think the zulus is better image quality personally but each to there own , but like you said not £300 better 👍

The model on the website looks to not have a rangefinder...that's the sell point for me..

You check you’re app and it tells you were to dial in plus you can look at a reticule and it shows you the new aim point on there

Yeah I believe it is , I found the laser range finder to work good out to about 500 yards , sometimes had a ranging error come up past that point
Is it a continuous zoom for fixed at 5 and 20 ?
Goes up in stages from 5 -7.5 - 10 - 12.5 and so on to 20 buddy
