Chester had a very traumatic childhood starting at the age of 7 years old. He was abused by an older boy who he thought was his friend for 6 years. Chester was also bullied in high school because he was too skinny from the drug problem he had. He started doing drugs and drinking alcohol at the age of 11 years old. He got off drugs in 2005 after his divorce from his first wife. He battleed his mental health problems from his childhood through out his life and he last that battle on July 20, 2017. He used the music to help him deal with his feelings in a healthier manner especially after rehab in 2005. If you want to understand Chester better watch/listen to the songs Crawling and Points of Authority. Chester cared about everyone else more than he did himself. Chester gave it his all during every concert. 1 time in Australia he broke his wrist 30 minutes into the concert and refused to stop the concert to get medical attention. He said "It will be just as broken in 1 hour as it is now". He went to the hospital after the concert and got the medical help he needed.
It is very normal for rock bands/artists to remind their fans to be safe in the mosh pits. They want their fans to have a safe and fun time at their concerts. They have no problem stopping the concert if someone falls down or gets hurt to make sure the person is ok and getting any help they may need. You can find videos of rock bands/ artists stopping their concerts for fans who fell down or got hurt and need help. The rock community is a very caring and friendly community.
