Elvira isn’t your average been there done that mare, in fact… she’s a bit of a movie star. In the last year this even keeled mare was ridden by host, Janie Johnson, to film an episode for the cowboy channel and was one of the stars during sheplers 2023 winter photo shoot.
This registered mare is built correct with plenty of bone, and is THICK made. Elvira stands 15 hands and weighs every bit of 1250 lbs.
She’s been used to sort, taken on overnight pack trips, been used extensively to gather, doctor, brand, she’s been started out of the box and she’s our go-to horse when friends come to visit. This mare is a straightforward ride and is always a pleasure to swing a leg over. Elvira isn’t mareish, gets along with everyone in the pasture, and is an easy keeper. She travels out on the ranch and she hunts a stop in the arena, making her an excellent breakaway or heel horse prospect as well. But don’t just buy her because shes pretty!
