I am so lucky that I found this channel! Two months ago I started an HSK 1 course at Confucius Institute and we are using the book series, currently we are at lesson 8. One question: I was doing the workbook for the first lesson "Hello," and on question 3 it asks to match the words to the pictures. There is nothing in the "Hello" unit that taught those words. Am I missing something? Am I just supposed to look them up in Pleco or another dictionary?

This is incredibly helpful. That being said, there is a section called "Classroom expressions" that is not covered here.. and in section 4 where we read words and change the 3rd tone syllables, after the 3rd word, you stopped telling us what each word meant..
