Maybe it was interview day and he did all the different with that day in that gear? I'm sure when they are doing press it's more than one interview a day...
LOL...that was a total lie. Cavill absolutely channelled Robert Vaughn's speech patterns and snide attitude. I bet he watched a dozen episodes and practiced for hours.
for those arguing sexist interviewer questions.....she cant exactly ask the girls about fist fights and the guys about fashion.....the guys wore most plain suits or turtle necks while the girls were much more stylish...meanwhile the guys did all the physical stunts....so thats why they asked those questions....
+dean winchestette I think the actresses can talk about a lot more than fashion, being stylish is not even an accomplishment for them: they wore what they were ask to wear. There is a lot more about being an actress and that doesn't begin with your look.
In the film, the boys' characters knew much more about fashion than Vikander's... She could've asked them a question related to that, but also costumes are important to every character in a film--the interviewer could have asked them the literal same question and likely would've gotten a good answer. As for Vikander, her character--as she noted--wasn't big on fashion, was a mechanic, and had an intense driving scene... It's not that hard to ask interesting questions that aren't gender-biased, y'all gotta get out of your holes.
The fact that you think the guys wore plain suits and that the girls wore more fashionable proves you don’t know shit about fashion. Lmao if you saw the movie fashion taste was actually a bigger deal for the guys than the girls
Good interview. A little too many questions doesn't allow for natural conversation and more space for spontaneity, but the questions were good. ❤ You can tell the interviewer did her research.
I really liked the movie, but I think then, they should have gotten a Russian actor. There are plenty of goodlooking ones, for example Danila Kozlovsky.
ellamae I don't think it's about just being good looking though. It's about being the right actor for the part, chemistry with the other actors etc. Maybe Armie just had something other actors who auditioned didn't.
Does anyone else find the questions sexist - costumes for females, and stunts and cars for the guys ?!? Come on POPSUGAR, from your past content I expected better.
I'm actually a huge fan of this story and of the celebrities we see in this interview, so I hope you'll understand that the following criticism has nothing to do with the U.N.C.L.E. plot or with them in person. I'm just always a bit disappointed in Hollywood's casting directors when they hire Americans/ English speaking actors for non-English parts ... because why not give a foreign actor, who knows his/her craft and might already have an international reputation, a chance ?! 🙄 Of course it's a competitive business and established actors + agents, too, compete to get their hands on promising material. I also get that a popular face on the movie poster guarantees the studios a certain number of viewers even if the project should turn out bad. Yet, they already had that celebrity bonus in U.N.C.L.E with Henry Cavill and Hugh Grant with pretty big international fanbases of several generations. Thus, I think the filmmaker's missed the opportunity to promote native actors (which there are in Italy, Germany, Russia... some with international reputations already) and provide foreign movie parts with the authenticity they need. Critics have denounced that this lacks concept or reliability, and - if at all - that wasn't the script, it was the casting. Why not cast one of Italy's many famous actresses' for Victoria, or one of Germany's great acting talents for Gaby... or even a Russian actor/American of Russian ancestry for Ilya? Again, the casting of this film was not bad at all, just another example of Hollywood's missed chances to promote the international film budiness's diversity and I'm actually a huge Armie Hammer fan on and off-screen, plus I agree he did Ilya justice, so I hope you'll understand that this criticism has nothing to do with great Armie. I'm just always a bit mad at Hollywood when they cast Americans/ Hollywood actors for non-English parts, because - Why not give a foreign actor, who knows his/her craft, a chance ?! 🙄 (I recently watched a book adaption of an award-winning Senegalese novel and there's a very professional national film industry with good actors, the lead role was played by Thandie Newton). Of course it's a competitive business and established actors + agents too compete to get their hands at promising material. I also see that a popular face on the movie poster ensures studios a certain amount of viewers. Yet, they already had that celebrity bonus in Codename U.N.C.L.E with Henry Cavill and Hugh Grant, thus I think the studio filmmaker's actually missed the opportunity to promote native actors (which there are in Italy, Germany, Russia... with international reputation) and provide those parts with more authenticity. Why not cast one of Italy's many famous actresses' for Victoria, or one of Germany's great acting talents for Gaby... or even a Russian actor/American of Russian ancestry for Ilya? Again, the casting of this film was not bad at all, just another example of Hollywood's missed chances to promote the international film budiness's diversity and collaboration.
+colinelafond OH, I am so sick of political correctness. Women and Men are different, TRUE girls can do guy stuff and vice versa, but intrinsically we are different BUT Equal.
stefftotheleft The point is that it would make better discussion to ask both parties questions of a similar caliber instead of pigeon holing via "normal" gender expectations. Hammer and Cavill obviously have opinions on their characters' costumes and Vikander had intense driving scenes as well...
my left ear enjoyed that

After seeing this movie I thought Cavill would be the perfect James Bond.

I want a movie with Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander, and Henry Cavill again ugh 😩
That looks like Henry's favourite shirt. He wears it almost to all interviews. Not that I stalk him or anything lmao
He just loves blue colour :D
Maybe it was interview day and he did all the different with that day in that gear? I'm sure when they are doing press it's more than one interview a day...
"He had soft bone." that killed me. Oh wait, the electric chair scene destroyed me!!!
I love Armies Russian accent. Love the whole movie
Same though, he sounds so sexy
when I saw Armie I thought he really is Russian but he's not.
I'm Russian and I thought the same :D Like, how haven't I heard about this guy?
Then I went on IMDb and turned out he is American.
You guys he actually has Russian roots!
Seen it twice, fell in love with Illya. 😍 Need the DVD.

NonchalantLorelei Armie makes one sexy Russian.

HENRY CAVILL IS SOOOO HOT !!
Henry, "They made a t.v. show about this"? Armie, "Why are we making a movie about this"? 😄🤷🏼♂️
LOL...that was a total lie. Cavill absolutely channelled Robert Vaughn's speech patterns and snide attitude. I bet he watched a dozen episodes and practiced for hours.

But you can still ask about characters motivations and background ideas the actors had for them. Those questions were boring.
Armie should always talk with the Russian accent. Or at least film an U.N.C.L.E. sequel.
There is way too much hotness with Henry & Armie in that movie! It kills me! ;)
I love this movie. Armie Hammer is my new fave and I really liked his Russian accent, it made me wish I had one

I really liked the UNCLE movie, I was hoping a part 2,3 and 4...but never hapened 😔
Are you serious? Asking the girls about fashion and the boys about fistfights? I thought PopSugar was passed this

Catering to the masses, not your individual tastes.

Well Armie has Russian background he has mentioned that in few interviews. So that probably helped him with this movie.
That's the girl who's gonna play lara croft right!?

Men should dress like (and look like but I'm realist) Armie in the movie.

Armie that's a 250 not a 275 on the poster...
As a Russian I always interested in how Russian sounds like to non speakers?
armie é muito gato, meu deus

Asking to women about fashion and to the men about fist fights...
colinelafond because the men weren't exactly fashionable and the women didn't get into fist fights. Logic! :)
Have you seen the movie? The men were very fashionable et Alicia Vikander was in at least one action scene!
She was also asking that actress about her slapping the guy, so what’s your problem?

Glad the fashion was sixties and not eighties.
Oh my God ask the women about fashion, the guys about workout routines and cars.
She asks the girls about the clothes (which they don't even pick out) and then the boys about their action scenes. Kinda sad.
