@@frommetoyou5450 I'd love a standard tournament too, but we'll have to take what we can get I guess. I'm hyped to go around all my friends trying to scrounge together all the cards I'll need so I don't have to spend 600 euros on cards that I'll never play again.
That is definitely not the Dunning-Kruger effect. I think I remember reading about what you’re talking about, but it’s a lot more complex then the DKE. Oh, Nicole just chimed in just now. 😂
nice deck, against dimir i believe is about the choices in playing lines in some cases, in my opinion you have to play the most agressive route all the time because the time you fall behind they can out tempo you, and that would mean playing in sorcery speed stuff your would normally play as in their turn, just to make then have the hard choice to either remove your creature or advance their board
I had the same thing with the esper pixie deck, was killing it recently, then hit a cold streak that was topped off by having an Oculus deck get turn 1 oculus via my Nightmare.
Would 4x maindeck painters studio work in this deck or there just isnt room for all 4 playset, i played a boros tokens deck running 4 and i got crushed
Honestly, that Game 1 Split Up is why I don't like closed decklist games. They ONLY benefit the "Ha! Gottem!" crowd and make game 1s miserable at times. Open decklists do benefit the stronger player but that's really how it should be. The information about the game is out there and it's up to the players to put it together the most effectively.
@@cooljoe500 Any further elaboration? Because it's only the players on a deck that win game 1 with a surprise factor and then go on to lose games 2 and 3 that benefit from closed decklists. Which isn't fun to play against at all. Meanwhile if you're on a meta deck a good opponent will know what you're on 90% of the time when you drop your first land and it was only both player's mulligan decisions that were impacted but those decisions can BE the entirety of the deciding point of game 1
Nice save Jim. "me giving you an example of a hand you should mulligan".
42:14 a prime example of the highs and lows of magic
I have to admit, I did laugh out loud at that Split up in the first game in the third match. You just set it up so perfectly.
Suuuuuuuuuuureeee Jim, we'll take your word for it, 12 and 0.
Hope you had fun with the good old GP format! I'm excited to play the modern one in Europe in March! Opens are amazing and I can't wait to 0-3 drop
Im sad that its modern tbh.. would be nice to have a giant open standard here in Europe sometime this year but its not looking good :/

@@mees8711 haha so true! Maybe some dudes at my LGS will lend me a modern deck just so i can participate! Still very exciting that “GP’s” are back!

Love 12-0 start. Deck looks great
Hey Jim, good running into you at the event. Hope they bring more big stuff to Atlanta
Really cool to see you playing the same deck as Ross - I played with him in middle school and FNMs way back in the day

5-0 into 7-2 that's what's up, jim. good job, man.

What happened to game 2?
yes im like what how did he get a win there
I was following along with your matches on melee and was getting really excited when I saw you go 7-2 but then…..ya

What was the book bicole was talking about? At around 31:30
Additionally for jeskai convoke is ral’s reinforcements good enough?
loved playing convoke last season, this season its like pulling teeth and I been taking so many L's. Guess its a bad meta for it, back to golgari.
well golgari is at a terrible place atm
12-0 wow this deck must be crazy
By the end of the video: oh…
Jim just doesn’t gaf when he streams. Misplay for days

"that is a magic the gathering card" lmao
Really hate the main deck torches
probably too many noncreatures right?
12-0?! It was an honor to lose to you
!
Dimir is just that busted, to be completely honest. It just does *everything*.
Decks looks kinda weak ngl
Ninjitsu stays the worst mechanic in mtg.. thanks for being an example kaito...
