Miss Li (who did the duet with Lars Winnerbäck you reacted to earlier) have done a great cover of this. You liked her voice, so you will probably love that!

This song is not only legendary, the album that it featured on "Ja, dä ä dä" is a seminal european psych rock classic. Dj Shadow sampled it on his famous album "Entroducing..." that you might know since you listen to hip hop.

I get why you wouldnt like his voice if youre not a native... I love it but I think Its mostly because of his charming slang and what he represents. Hes like the king of the free youth from the 60s and you can hear it in the way he sings:) and he definitely smoked haha. you should listen to Ola Magnell, either "Påtalåten" or "Man ska vara två" He also has this charming way of speaking/singing

Check out Pugh Rogefeldt's "Hog Farm", which has a killer riff, but the backstory is a cultural clash between Swedish hippies and visiting American hippies putting up a circus tent at Gärdet. The Swedes were mailly into politics, the Americans were mainly into dope, basically, so from utter fandom "ooh real hippies, in Sweden" it just became condemnation. "kommer hit och tar oss ned igeeen..."

Pughs son Seth lived next door to a friend of mine in High School. Me and the friend had a band and were rehearsing in his garage, as usual warming up with a couple of Pughs songs. Suddenly there's a knock on the garage door and outside is Pugh asking to jam with us. I promise you we shat bricks.

You really should check out this Miss Li cover of the song. (link in reply)
It's from the tv show Så mycket bättre where swedish singers live together for about a week and every day it's one of theirs day, that person then decides some activety to do during the day and a dinner for the evening and then in the evening they eat, talk and all the other singers have prepared a cover each of a song and perform their covers live.
It's always interesting because it's very relaxed, they talk and you get to know more about the artists and hear the other singers make covers in their style.
In this season it was Pugh, Miss Li, Darin, Magnus Uggla and a couple more.
On Pugh's night Miss Li performed an amazing cover of Här kommer natten.

I have the same favourite part in the song, just so delightfully whimsical in the context. Just enjoying your reactions!
And to continue the technical feedback the difference in volume was even steeper this time compared to your previous video. If you did any tinkering trying to level out the audio between the recording of that video and this i suggest trying the complete opposite instead.

That record was very important when it came out 😊I ruched out and bought it at once and I still have it, pop and rock music was actually most of the time in English Swedish wasn’t cool. Pugh is very playful listen to Hog farm or dinga linga Lena😀

This song sticks out in Swedish music. There are connections to the British prog. There are more similar Swedish examples, although, maybe not real "Svenska klassiker". "Samla mammas manna" (later Zamla) check "Circus Apparatha" (probably with some inspiration from Frank Zappa) also from the early 1970s is "Fläsket brinner" most wellknown is probably "Gunnars dilemma" a fusion of Swedish folk music and jazz. It is a short song. Much longer but related is Mikael Ramel (son of Povel Ramel): Artificiell prana.

Cool instrumentals on this one, but I definitely feel you about the whole voice thing.
I suspect the audio leveling must've gotten mixed somehow since your mic seems to be significantly lower than the music, made me jump a bit when the music started blaring 🤣

Pleeeeease react to Miss Li's version of the song. She did it on "Så mycket bättre" and it has been called the best cover ever in the program. Magnus Uggla's version of "Jag och min far" is also very very good. It's typically that one and Miss Li's covers that are considered the best one. And it's from the same season, 2012.

Well I don't like Pugh that much but to fully understand the Swedish music wonder you have to go back to the Vikings, swedes starts singing when they are born and every song and style. Here's a song by Carl Mikael Bellman from 1780 I think. Most Swedes know many of his songs. There are hundreds of them, he was a hit maker. Here's a song performed by three girls in Gamla Stan. All Swedes know it.

No, we don´t. I would be surprised if more than 0,5 % of the swedes know the song you linked. Most know of Bellman but alot of people couldn't even name one song
