Honestly, he had only a little tiny bit of cartoon screen time and most of that was a silly gag of him getting stepped on by Trypticon. As a G1 toy, he was just a crappy repaint of Gears. I don't care if they took some liberties like the chrome feet to try to give a boring character a little charm.

Great figure but their efforts could have been better used towards completing at least ONE of their combiner teams.
Well they put that effort towards revealing another combiner instead lol
The Mysterians logo is on the raised part of the bonnet because that’s where it is on the toon model.
I reached a lot of photos and even on the toon model I only saw it in one instance vs many instances of the other way (towards the front of the hood). Not a huge deal but something I found interesting
I think they’ve probably used the photo that comes up when you google “g1 swerve cartoon” because that shows it where they’ve put it.
Also I’d highly recommend shaving down those hook tabs on the feet, it’s much easier to tab and untab the two halves of the vehicle and still plenty secure.
Maybe this is a starter bot for people that want less complication but the nice finish and appreciate this colour scheme. I agree with you the M should be forward and then the hood vent would be easy to sticker black to bring the G1 look closer. Maybe if they sell out they'll do a version 2.0.
I would think they’d use a more popular character as a “starter” bot if they were going to do that, which I doubt they they were thinking that. A lot of it does have to do with the original bot and design being simple, so I get it to a large degree but that doesn’t change the fact that it is very solid just boring
I think maybe some of the popularity for this will be from his representation in IDW... Even though it's his G1 body
Totally agree. He was such a fleshed out character in IDW
16:37 My copy just will not tab in fully. I've scraped away plastic from the port in the arm and it's a tiny bit better but still not good. The other side is perfectly flush, leading me to be extremely miffed with the figure.
On the positive side, the final tabbing in of the underside of the feet went quite smoothly.
Did you ever get this figured out? The paint scraping is definitely a bummer.
@@Paik4Life No. He isn't a figure I pick up and enjoy holding now. I'll probably put him in robot mode and at the back of my display. Behind bigger bots.

Great video. What do you think would be the best place to put the faction symbol? Id hate to cover up the nice translucent chest and not be able to see the details inside. I thought about the groin area but that might look awkward....
Sorry, I didn't get an alert for this comment. To be honest I haven't even put a faction symbol on mine yet either. Probably a small one on the white belly? I'm not sure myself since it's so small.

Yea, I agree a really meh figure so I will not be picking this one up. I wasn’t going to get Pipes either but I did because he at least looks kinda bad ass.

Almost same another version as gears in alt mode.
Gears is way different and much more interesting to me. Swerve is super simple
I love the alt mode and I've always hated Gears head sculpt so this guy is perfect for me. I only wish his feet were white as having it chromed makes it look really weird in alt mode.

This guy is not the best. Transformed him once and he will probably stay on the shelf from here. No wow factor at all.
