3-0. dna won this and here's why: round 1: pretty self explanatory. while ill will took a while to build up steam, dna's first line was spontaneous fire. from then on, dna was just dropping bombs throughout. the crowd was behind him and he responded. this was definitely my favorite first round in a smack battle since hitman holla's when he faced john john (not saying this was the BEST first round since then, but just a personal favorite). round 2: once again, fairly obvious. unfortunately, ill will just came off weak and eventually got awkward. i was nervous dna was going to lose track of what he started off with in the first round. he started off with a good rebuttal and some nice freestyling, but after a bit less than a minute later, it seemed like nothing else was connecting. he started his round at about 20:00, but it wasn't until the 22:30 when he started to consistently come with some good stuff. round 3: totally disappointing round. ill started off well, but lost himself after the whole "KOTD/slave" angle. from then on, it felt as if i was listening to him rambling. there just wasn't any potency. i'm going to have to say the same thing about dna. it's like dna knew he won and just stopped trying. i was looking forward to seeing him finish off strong. still, dna had more to his performance. better angles, more intense, and he was able to build off his momentum from previous rounds. off topic: the quality of the NOME 4 battles is crazy. props to smack for using his money to present this professionally.
