UBW is definitely the best possible Route for Shirou in that he learns to live with himself and move on from his survivor's guilt while having a love interest that both supports and grounds him in even measure. Rin teaches Shirou how to be happy, all the while she's learning the same at his side. My only complaints about UBW are that Rider, the most tragic and legendary of all Greek monsters, gets trashed by a damn history teacher and that Shinji somehow survives. Personally, I just deny, deny, deny and pretend that Rin crushed his throat under her boot and set him on fire after she pulled his worthless corpse from the Grail before she took her new boyfriend home for breakfast, cuddles and a much-needed shower (read note below). Note: While all but worthless, it was Shinji's piss-poor magic circuits and Illya's heart that Gilgamesh had shoved into him that were manifesting the Grail, extracting him was the only way to cut power to it. So, as much as I hate it, Rin going dumpster diving for a seaweed-headed worm in a malevolent wish-granting device's fat rolls was actually a legit necessity and a valid strategic maneuver (no, I can't believe I said it either). After that though, there was no reason to keep him alive after he tried to assault Rin in the church, not to even mention that he'd been doing the same to Sakura for years already. Seriously, Lancer should've just saved everyone the trouble and skewered the cretin while he had the chance.

The afterstory of UBW already has a better plot than 99% of school-life animes. Would totally love for a cute and easy-going continuation of this route, wouldn't mind if they threw in a few badass Waver moments too instead of that single cameo.

We was kind of able to go toe to toe with servants by the end of unlimited blade works in terms of speed and strength so he likely would kick ass in self-defense class. Especially because, most likely, Archer had knowledge of hand to hand combat and thus transferred that to Shirou during their fight.

True, the Archer that we all know is NOT him. Shirou will become an Archer but with different views in life which is technical a different entity than the Archer we all know.

This was the last episode and ufotable didn't even try to lower the quality of the show. Not even the animation, the lighting and the atmosphere are really top notch. It really captures the victorian era vibes of the place.

When Astraea ended up using Luvia's body, all those punished by her Noble Phantasm automatically took the "Trip to Suplex City". Astraea was all about justice and possessing Luvia redefined justice as "One Fall, No Tap Outs".
This is honestly the best ending, regardless of what anyone says. Just to re-inforce the ending we had a whole episode ironclad around it. Not that we needed creative input on the characters once they grew past a certain point. But come on. Emiya/Tohsaka is just the best. Their personalities completely conflict yet sooth each other at the same time. I'm a freaking dude, and by dude i mean hairy and needed to shave 8 months ago dude. And they will still always be the best. 10/10 would watch more of Hogwarts styled Fate Stay/Night. As would all of you hateful malicious pricks.
True we never see them kiss, but Rin resting her head in Shirou's lap at the end is about the most touchy most anime couples will ever become onscreen, due to the Japanese apparently being really shy about lovey-dovey stuff. So them being close enough to do this so casually is all the proof we need to know that they're together at this point.
Am I the only to feel it was right IMO that Rin and Shirou kinda fell in love. I mean I could see it even when they tried to pair Saber with him. To me Rin makes it feel more real and it was more natural; this was when I actually liked Shirou plus the story line did everything that the first series attempt did not (I know it's based off different VN stories) but I feel this one works for me the best :)

No cliche bull crap just straight "I have a feeling for you" (the anime have it exaggerated little bit with Tohsaka pushing Shirou to the ground out of embarrassment. In the VN, she actually flushed at first and say "don't say thing that would lead to embarrassment" then Shirou said "nope I mean it. I have a feeling for you" some thing along those line then Tohsaka was silence. Both then walk home together. That it. Just casual).

Shirou is much stronger because he has Reality Marble spell, but he won't use it. Reality Marble is a forbidden magic. Still, he has dozens of deadly Noble Phantasms stored in UBW which he can pull out at any moment. Gae Bolg, Caladbolg, Durandal, that Frozen Sword or something like that. Also, Shirou is not a mage but a magic-user like his father. He is not that great with magic but very strong at a real fight.

It stores a unlimited amount of Noble Phantasms, so using the Reality Marble was irrelevant, but since it's how the anime went then, Oh well. Plus, if you haven't, watch Fate/Night. In Fate/Night, Gilgamesh is a beast. Spoiler: In one episode Gilgamesh attempts to take Saber from Shirou. Yadda Yadda, they fight Saber N' Shirou are losing, Saber puts up a final stand, Gilgamesh uses EA, Shirou combines powers with Saber, they use Excalibur to fight of EA, then Gilgamesh disappears since he lost. Pretty much sums up how OP he is.

OMG YES!!!!!! And slowly bit by bit we see Shirou slowly transition into archer.
We was kind of able to go toe to toe with servants by the end of unlimited blade works in terms of speed and strength so he likely would kick ass in self-defense class. Especially because, most likely, Archer had knowledge of hand to hand combat and thus transferred that to Shirou during their fight.

This is honestly the best ending, regardless of what anyone says. Just to re-inforce the ending we had a whole episode ironclad around it. Not that we needed creative input on the characters once they grew past a certain point. But come on. Emiya/Tohsaka is just the best. Their personalities completely conflict yet sooth each other at the same time. I'm a freaking dude, and by dude i mean hairy and needed to shave 8 months ago dude. And they will still always be the best. 10/10 would watch more of Hogwarts styled Fate Stay/Night. As would all of you hateful malicious pricks.

Am I the only to feel it was right IMO that Rin and Shirou kinda fell in love. I mean I could see it even when they tried to pair Saber with him. To me Rin makes it feel more real and it was more natural; this was when I actually liked Shirou plus the story line did everything that the first series attempt did not (I know it's based off different VN stories) but I feel this one works for me the best :)

That is why Rin and Shirou are the most popular relationship. It the lack of romance but the chemistry that it make them work. They don't need to talk about love. Shirou confessed to Tohsaka in the most casual way possible. No cliche bull crap just straight "I have a feeling for you" (the anime have it exaggerated little bit with Tohsaka pushing Shirou to the ground out of embarrassment. In the VN, she actually flushed at first and say "don't say thing that would lead to embarrassment" then Shirou said "nope I mean it. I have a feeling for you" some thing along those line then Tohsaka was silence. Both then walk home together. That it. Just casual).
They also said that in the anime, you made it sound like that dialogue was only in the VN.
Eniggmaa Incognito Rin reaction in the anime was exaggerated. In VN she was surprised but never to the point of pushing him down then later hug him in the back which I assumed they did to add the cuteness effect. She was surprised then stay silence then both of them later walk home.

Shirou is much stronger because he has Reality Marble spell, but he won't use it. Reality Marble is a forbidden magic. Still, he has dozens of deadly Noble Phantasms stored in UBW which he can pull out at any moment. Gae Bolg, Caladbolg, Durandal, that Frozen Sword or something like that.
Also, Shirou is not a mage but a magic-user like his father. He is not that great with magic but very strong at a real fight.
Ice Cream You know Gilgamesh has the exact same thing, but it's called the "Gate of Babylon." It stores a unlimited amount of Noble Phantasms, so using the Reality Marble was irrelevant, but since it's how the anime went then, Oh well.
Plus, if you haven't, watch Fate/Night. In Fate/Night, Gilgamesh is a beast.
Spoiler: In one episode Gilgamesh attempts to take Saber from Shirou. Yadda Yadda, they fight Saber N' Shirou are losing, Saber puts up a final stand, Gilgamesh uses EA, Shirou combines powers with Saber, they use Excalibur to fight of EA, then Gilgamesh disappears since he lost. Pretty much sums up how OP he is.
