    Saying something is "delicious" can be expressed in formal, standard, or informal ways. You should choose which version you'll use depending on who you're saying the word "delicious" and how formal or polite you want to be.
    Practice saying this phrase during the pronunciation section to make sure you are comfortable saying it correctly. It'll be useful if you're living in Korea or if you're living near Koreans in your area.
    This phrase is the standard and most common way of saying "delicious" in Korean. You may hear other people simply saying 맛있어 (masisseo), but this is informal and shouldn't be used unless you're speaking to someone younger than you or someone very close to you. Otherwise, stick with the way we will teach you in the video.

    Why am I hearing "t" sound like "masitseoyo". Correct me if I'm wrong. What was taught to me in KLC is when the final consonant is next to vowel, the sound should be medial (of siot), so it should be "s" like "masisseoyo" not "masitseoyo". Also the "masitda" sound that I heard should be "masisda" because it is in medial. I'm confused or there is a problem in my hearing? Can you shed light on this. Komapseumnida!

    • @90daykorean
      @90daykorean  2 месяца назад

      Sure, I'll try explain what you might be hearing. ^^
      You heard "masitda" for 맛있다 and that is correct. When the ㅆ followed by consonants, in this case, 'ㄷ'. it is pronounced as 't'. For 맛있어요, you might expect to hear "masisseoyo" due to the medial sound rule. However, in casual speech, the ㅅ can sometimes sound like a "t" at the end of a syllable. So you may hear "맛있어요" as "masitseoyo."
      Korean pronunciation can sometimes change in casual or rapid speech. So what you hear is not wrong, you are just picking up subtle pronunciation changes that happens in spoken Korean!
      Keep practicing and listening to native speakers, and these nuances will become more familiar to you. ^^
