Gives off some serious Race for the Galaxy vibes with a couple modifications. As someone with most of the current TM stuff and Race for the Galaxy I'm not totally sold on this yet. We'll see if the FOMO from the promos gets me.
Race was explicitly designed to be "PR: The Card Game" before Seyfarth decided to make SJ, which took some ideas from Lehmann's design (he gets royalties for SJ). The simultaneous phase selection of Race (the part this game echoes so strongly) is not in either of those games
I have never done kickstarter. It makes me a little nervous and I dont like waiting even a week for regular orders lol. Any thoughts on Tiny Epic Dungeons? I was thinking of starting there and seeing where that goes. It's a much smaller attack on your wallet than most I see.
I am a HUGE fan of TM, but this is nothing that I want to play with. The only thing that I want from their campaign is the metallic cubes to replace my plastic ones lol Thanks for the video!
25:52 I don't believe you modify the MC production for TR, instead the produce action MC is your MC prod + TR, doing it the way you did doubles your income for TR. In the original game, I hid the 1st player marker under the mars cutout where i stored cubes for actions to remind me when I returned action cubes to advance the generation maker. You should have come up with a scheme such that something you always do (for instance grab the action selection cards is placed under the countdown cube for the next turn or something. If you get even a single generation extra the solo game balance is totally messed up. My "high scores" all game from taking an extra turn.
I'm not clear on what you are saying with MC production. I didn't add in TR twice, I jut kept track of TR + MC on the MC track (so it was more constantly in view in this video). So I wasn't giving myself any doubled production.
@@69robtaylor again, it was just an adjustment for filming. Whenever I gained a TR, I also adjusted MC production up one. But when I actually produced, I didn't add TR again. I just used the modified MC production value (which already incorporated my TR). Hope that makes sense!
@@OneStopCoopShop RAW is to keep TR and MC production separate and add the two. The way you are doing it is confusing because it is difficult to see where the MC production is coming from if you need to redo pure.
I would have preferred they simply UPGRADE the cards for the original game/expansions. Perhaps I wouldn't mind the length of the game if my eyes weren't bleeding an hour in due to the original artwork.
@@OneStopCoopShop wow. Thanks for answering. I love solo play (hence watching this channel), but playing a eurogame like this with friends left me wanting more. We were basically playing each our own solo game. Then I might as well play at home. The co-op play doesn't really change that, or does it?
The co-op play pretty much requires you to discuss your phase cards every turn, and to plan things out so you don’t focus on the exact same terraforming tracks and such. So I think it DOES improve the issue you are discussing

Thanks for reminding me why I was excited about this game! Now just need to wait on fulfillment. Cheers
Happy to help ;)
Now imagine if TFM had the same artwork, it would be even more awesome.
Having the consistent aesthetic here is really nice!
Imagine being someone who didn't mind the original art...
Well, I don't mind it, but it still could be improved.

Lets go with cult of the

Thanks for the coverage! Never got around to trying the original, this one looks interesting. Will definitely check out the kickstarter :D
I like this one a bit better, but my tastes run towards streamlined for euros, and it’s got co-op ;)
Great vid, love the time stamps.
Glad you found them helpful! I was so happy when RUclips made that feature available to all channels.
Great video Mike! "Mike is boring while Teraforming" should be on a shirt or mug somewhere. I'd buy it. :p
Lol, thanks Clay!

That’s one of the new KS games we haven’t played, so I can’t speak to it. But Hunted: Wode Ridge, which launched today, is excellent :)
Eco line starts with 1 plant production not 1 plant.
Yup, mixed that up while dealing with both player set-ups.
23.40 should have gained a TR for the ocean tile
You're right! Stealing VPs from myself, lol

You have to wait for the BIG BIG BIG box version to get the new art ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop the big box upgrades the art on the cards? Ithought it was for the terrain tiles only
@@johnpanagos5835 that was a joke, sorry! There are no plans to upgrade the art for the original Terraforming Mars, at least not that I'm aware of.
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah i went to search for it in bgg :-)
No problem. Thnx for the video and the reply helps a lot
This doesn't change much of the negative aspects of the original game for me. Still a lot of unthematic math and fiddling with random cards by myself.
Yeah, for better or worse that is definitely still here :)
