Open dialogue is how you end prejudice. In almost every case, prejudice is caused by fear. When they meet these people they tend to find that they all want the same things, and all think mostly the same way. Open dialogue ends prejudice and bigotry usually so if you want to end prejudice you should always try to talk to those who show it.

Everyone is the Purgatory Pub has died. They are in purgatory and have to wait until their souls are purged of their sins and baggage from life. It is the inbetween of Heaven and Hell. There is a great deal of symbolism in the video and the song really only works with the video. The people need to rid themselves of the baggage before they can move on. When ready they move into the light. However, Ren is presumably ressurected (revived by the EMTs) at the site of the accident. Webby died and remains in the Purgatory Pub contemplating his life. The others you see in the Pub begin to resolve their issues. Black and white man playing pool, woman with slit wrists talking to the druggie, President of Biker gang consoling and speaking to the black hooker (?) and so on. They are all seated at the table at one point but Ren and Webby are not. The symbols of their lives are on all their bodies.
