Music is such an amazing thing. I was explaining adverbs to a young girl the other day, and I swear this song popped into my head. And it's probably been 30 years since I've heard it. It's amazing how powerful the connection between memory and music is.
Schoolhouse Rock taught me words and their usage as well or better than any teacher I had as a child. I have teacher friends that still use it and think it works extremely well. Hard to believe these are around 40 years old now.
Makes me flash back to my youth in the 1970's, and Saturday morning teevee. Man oh man, these folks who made these films had a super knack for creating infectious, memorable songs. ❤️
My mama bought for me the anniversary edition of school house rock when I was kid! It help me my whole life !! Even in college …. You tend to forget parts of speech as you get older because they stop teaching it. One day I will show these videos to my kids… it made learning fun and I could actually remember what they said because it was catchy Af.

Growing up in the 90s I remember some of my first memories dealing with TV was Schoolhouse Rock, this and Conjunction Junction were my utmost favorites. I wish they'd bring back this style of edutainment, it just sticks!
Hard to believe, today, an America actually existed where this is what television was like. But some of us Gen X kids remember and we found the people who created this stuff, and asked them to teach us how. I went to Bob Dorough and Mike Ovitz, and asked, and they were amazed anybody cared about it, and taught me. The ground is now quivering in its winter awaiting the spring and return of this kind of programming. It ain't just me, folks. Hang on. Watch and wait... it's true. I give it before the end of 2017.

I'm 18 and before I started school my mom had a DVD of school house rock and she would play it for me my brother and cousins for us to learn it even when we where in school so we could learn everything I miss those days and I'm glad my mom showed us this so we bettered our education so we would know something when we started school we wouldn't need help

There was so much you could learn from cartoons prior to the seventies. That mostly faded away after that time. I became interested in school house rock initially forvthr tunes. But the lyrics were just as entertaining. It was wonderfully designed to make you learn. I even learned to appreciate classical music by watching Woody Woodpecker and Looney tunes.😅
