    Can you make a video explaining about the pallet? How you put colors, mixing them and etc?..

    • @Twinzma
      @Twinzma 5 лет назад +15

      Noa Zur ya, good luck on that. He never does that. This channel doesn't offer tutorials per say. There are a good amount of actual tutorials on RUclips from real good artists that will actually encourage and teach you to apply their lessons, like explain tones, values, colors, and how to put them all together.

    I don't understand how you figure out and paint perfect values on a completely white surface. The eye whites looks completely off until you complete the surroundings. That means you don't compare relative values but paint in absolutes somehow?

    • @AlpayEfe
      @AlpayEfe  5 лет назад +64

      That’s just a matter of experience, it’s something you do automatically once you have done it a few thousand times :)

      @@reenasharma3004 we aren't seeing a lot--- he could be matching colors and not filming that part

    • @redangrybird7564
      @redangrybird7564 5 лет назад +6

      @defdac Mix and match the colour of your paint to the colour of the photograph, this way you can start your painting anywhere on the canvas.
      Just make sure that you got it right, value and colour before you apply to the canvas.

    • @Twinzma
      @Twinzma 5 лет назад +8

      He doesn't show or explain anything like other great tutorials. No tones, values, even colors used. This is apparently, pretty much a philosophical bragging channel, not a learning oil painting channel.

    I just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos for 2 days. I so admire how you start with the eyes and use multiple colors for the face. I am trying so hard to adopt your technique. It is literally breathtaking. You are so talented, your work is inspiring!

    It's so cool watching the process (even at speed) from the initial strokes to the intermediate moves and at some point...POW! The realism of the subject becomes suddenly apparent in just a second or two. That transitional point is just amazing, fun, and beatiful! Thank you so much for these "reveal moments" in your work!

    your principle on noses is applicable to alot of different aspects of a persons face. Eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, the lips, the folds of the lips. They all effect how the mind sees the image and enjoy it. I believe you're just good at getting the proportions down for those different details that you disregard those aspects. It's not a big deal i just think it's interesting you prioritized the nose when most artist prioritize the eyes because of how they connect to the viewer. It's almost like you've had problems getting the nose to come out right in the past. You make beautiful work altogether. I'm learning alot from your vids as I go into Oil paintings!

    researching oil painting and you mention that safflower oil is faster drying medium than a lot of others. But, when I view other resources they say safflower dries really slow and that gamblin quick dry medium which is safflower with an acid additive, should be used thoughts?

    Hi, Your philosophy and the way of making art meet my criteria of what it means to make art.
    Bright fresh colors and contrasts. Current, expressive and intriguing subjects will ensure that those who look at your works in a hundred or more years will understand that they belong to this time.
    Some painters paint subjects like in past centuries, and I've always wondered why ?!
    What are they telling about their time or their thinking?
    Anyway, good! Bravo!
    I like a lot the subjects you paint, Do you take photos on your own to your subjects? They are always fascinating and somewhat ambiguous! So if you have a suggestion on where to find beautiful photos to use as a subject, I would be grateful.
    Good life!

    You're clearly very skilled. You've made a point of signing off with "Yeah. . . have a good one" which feels artificial after a few videos saying the same thing. Breaking up a finished surface with a background color might be cathartic for you, but it feels gimmicky over time. I've seen enough artists employing this device (Christian Hook and many others) to where it just feels like a gimmick. Not taking cheap shots -- I really like your videos and your commentary. I'm nowhere near your abilities. I think you're awesome and hope you continue with your wonderful posts.

    every site i've read says safflower oil dries very very slowly compared to linseed and drying poppy, and it never completely dries in the deeper layers. ppl say if u leave the painting in hot weather under sun it will literally melt & drip. i see it's considered one of the slow drying oils... idk where u got the info that it dries fast but i cant find it. if u use it alongside liquin it makes some sense, otherwise...

    Some parts of the skin are not skin tones, some strokes are grey or blue for example. How do you know where and when you should apply a colour that is not a skin tone? And why do you do it? Is it to make the face more realistic?
