I've been enjoying collage lately, but hadn't really thought about using it as a foundation for a drawing rather than just its own thing! I love that idea, thank you.
I saw an interesting collage the other day An artist had taken sn image they liked maybe from a magazine or something. They glued that to the left hand page of their sketchbook. Then on the right hand side, they tried to recreate that image. It came out really close. The colors were pretty much perfect I might try that method to break the ice and get started
I bought your book and it is sensational. I’m curious, does drawing inspire or not in the creation of your abstract paintings. They look very nice peeking out from behind you. ❤
When I paint, it’s all abstract and it feels like a different universe… I am still too much of a beginner as an abstract painter to really see relationships / influences between the two disciplines

We collect so much paper from packaging, envelopes, and other daily things… No need to buy ephemera if you look around. I agree! Have fun.

Sewing machine pattern paper is fab..very strong and very transparent
