I've been wondering about that too (How to keep it clean). I may try to soak it in some warm water and see if that cleans it. If not, the next time I'll add a drop of mild dish detergent (Like "Joy"). This works for sponge balls so hopefully it will work on this rope too. This is one of those props where using magician's white gloves would have useful. Lesson learned. SeoMagic,-san, do you have any recommendations on how to clean it without damaging it?
Unfortunately that is inevitable. You can try washing the whole thing. I would suggest keeping tit away from anything that could make t dirty. Always in a ziploc or case when not in use and always wash your hands thoroughly before handling. Any dirt on your hands will transfer. A different solution would be to spray paint the whole thing once your stains are too obvious.
