  • Drowned in Shadows - Sixteenth Echo
    by Morne Liebenberg
Whispers in the twilight, shadows creeping near,
A ghost of what I once held, fueled by all my fear.
In the salt and silence, beneath the moon's cruel eye,
A demon’s voice enticing, where lost love goes to die.
Drowned in shadows, lost in the tide,
My heart's a shattered mirror, where the memories collide.
Saltwater tears wash away my soul,
A battle with the demons, I'm losing self-control.
The waves are growing restless, hungry for the night,
Your laughter turning hollow, in the whispers of the flight.
I reach into the darkness, but you slip right through my hands,
A fleeting wisp of promise, swept away in foreign sands.
Drowned in shadows, lost in the tide,
My heart's a shattered mirror, where the memories collide.
Saltwater tears wash away my soul,
A battle with the demons, I'm losing self-control.
So here in darkness I remain,
A hollow shell, a twisted chain.
With the salt and shadows as my guide,
Forever trapped where love has died.
